12:05 – Belle Metal
Belle Metal looked very good in winning two bumpers last season. She won at Naas on her debut when winning by 12l, with the 2nd, 3rd and 4th all winning a race since. She followed up in a listed bumper at Limerick (probably a weak renewal), winning easily by 8l. She could make up into a nice mares novice hurdle contender. This will not be straight forward though, as she faces Ha Dor (also trained by Willie Mullins), who won a French bumper and was 3rd in a Grade 2 at Leopardstown on his hurdles debut and was then 5th (tailed off) in the Grade 1 at the Dublin Racing Festival.

12:35 – Journey With Me
This is a fair race with Mr Saxobeat an easy winner of a Galway bumper on his rules debut. Minella Cocooner is a bumper winner and was second on his hurdles debut (when long odds on). Fantasio D’alene finished behind the likes of Appreciate It and Vaniller. Journey With Me won a point and then won the same bumper at Gowran Park that Bob Olinger won for same connections. This is the race that Bob won on his hurdles debut and Journey With Me could turn out to be a proper Grade 1 horse.

13:10 – Folcano
Blinkers go on Folcano for the first time and he drops in trip from 3m. He was only a 15/2 shot in last years Martin Pipe off his UK mark of 132 and he was just touched off in his maiden hurdle here last January on heavy ground. Surely they are working back from Cheltenham with him and he would need to be getting a win to qualify for any handicap hurdle there. Shane Fitzgerald takes off 5lbs too and he is well able.
