12:05 Might I
MIGHT I created a good impression when winning at Warwick on his bumper debut last season and he looked like an excellent prospect when scoring by 11 lengths on his first start over hurdles at Newton Abbot in October.
Might I was up against a fairly useful sort in Thunder Rock, a subsequent winner, but he readily pulled clear of that rival and put the race to bed in a matter of strides. There is some depth to this contest, with the leading yards in Britain represented, but Might I scored with plenty in hand at Newton Abbot and should be difficult to beat.
NEW TO PADDY POWER?
12:40 Kissesforkatie
KISSESFORKATIE wasn’t at her best when only sixth on her reappearance at Lingfield last month, but she should be sharper for that outing and is expected to take a step forward here. Kissesforkatie remains lightly raced for a seven-year-old and she is well treated on the pick of her form – which includes an unlucky third at Wincanton last season on her penultimate outing.
13:15 Naturally High
NATURALLY HIGH, a Listed winner on the Flat in France in 2018, didn’t show much promise on his first completed start over hurdles at Fontwell in May. However, he offered a lot more encouragement at the same venue on his reappearance in October.
He duly built on that promise on his handicap debut at Lingfield in October, proving a cut above some lowly opposition. The modest gallop possibly masked Naturally High’s superiority ability and, despite going up 12lbs in the weights, he is still potentially chucked in based on his Flat form.
13:50 Third Time Lucki
THIRD TIME LUCKI, a tall type with the physique to excel over fences, has taken brilliantly to chasing and has been an impressive winner on both starts this season at Cheltenham. He has shown a fluent technique and an enthusiastic way of going about things, and that will continue to stand him in good stead. His chasing form is up there with the best on offer and he has been winning with plenty left in his locker.
14:25 Chacun Pour Soi
CHACUN POUR SOI is Timeform’s highest-rated horse in training and should prove too good for his rivals in the Tingle Creek. Chacun Pour Soi was a disappointing third in the Champion Chase, but that was a rare blip from this outstanding performer who has compiled a fantastic record since joining Willie Mullins.
Chacun Pour Soi has won seven of his nine starts for the yard – his only other defeat was when runner-up to A Plus Tard – and five of those victories have been at the highest level. His most impressive success was when beating Allaho by 5-and-a-half lengths on his latest outing at the Punchestown Festival, and he will be tough to beat if running anywhere near that level.
15:00 Deise Aba
DEISE ABA has an inconsistent profile, but it’s impossible to knock his record at Sandown as he is two from two at the course. Deise Aba arrives here on the back of an encouraging second over hurdles at Aintree – Remastered was a length back in third.
He should be spot on for this assignment after that encouraging reappearance. He is only 3lbs higher in the weights than for his latest success and should appreciate this stiffer test of stamina, so he has plenty in his favour.
15:35 Elham Valley
ELHAM VALLEY beat Hudson de Grugy here on his hurdling debut last season and he showed even better form later in the campaign when third in the Fred Winter at the Cheltenham Festival, faring best of the British. He wasn’t at his best on his reappearance at Ascot in October, but he is entitled to be sharper for that run and is now back on the same mark as when third at the Cheltenham Festival.
