12:10 – Naturally High
The one who stands out is NATURALLY HIGH, a useful Flat winner in France, who very much appeals as the type to make significant improvement now venturing into handicaps at a low level in this sphere. Global Wonder returns to hurdling on a good mark following victory on the level, so he’s feared most ahead of Jembug Drummer.
NEW TO PADDY POWER?
12:45 – Robaddan
His form figures hardly inspire confidence but ROBADDAN is a well-handicapped chaser, and if revived by a stable switch he should go close. Top of the list of dangers is the lightly raced Bobmahley, with Don Herbager, Minella Voucher and Alright Chief also considered.
13:20 – My Last Oscar
Mini Crest showed she stays 2m7f last time and has been placed in handicaps on her last two outings, so she sets the standard. However, MY LAST OSCAR improved on his handicap debut in March and may well have more to give with this additional step up in trip. Mr Stubbs is feared on his chase form but that was registered early in 2019 and he has not been seen since. Mozzaro is respected judged on his penultimate start.
13:55 – Zhiguli
This is quite a puzzle and most have not been seen in recent action but ZHIGULI looks the type to raise his game again this season and he gets the vote on his chasing debut. Brianstorm was hugely hit and miss last term but this could be a good time to catch him and he is feared most, ahead of Nestor Park and Big Nasty who also have plenty of chasing experience.
14:30 – Barony Legends
BARONY LEGENDS showed promise in a bumper in the spring and is taken to strike on hurdle debut, with confidence increased should the market vibes be strong given that the yard had a couple of hurdle debut winners earlier in the week. Ange Endormi offered enough in his 2 bumpers last term to suggest he could play a prominent role here, while Ozzie Man was a promising third on his hurdle debut.
15:05 – Cochise
Point recruits Best Trition, Gerico Ville and Next Left have all joined capable stables and need considering, but COCHISE is a well-above-average Flat-racer and he’s taken to make a winning debut over hurdles. Blackjack Magic was going the right way when last seen and could be the main danger.
15:35 – Go Whatever
Sambezi is a fascinating contender, going handicap chasing after just two runs over hurdles, and he could be leniently treated, but preference is for GO WHATEVER (nap) who made an encouraging start over fences at Ascot last autumn and is now 6lb lower. Sopran Thor, Jack Valentine and Enrichissant can all be given a chance in a well-contested event.
