Horse Racing tips: A 7/1 play leads the way at Fontwell today

Oneonechop has been placed a couple of times at Newton Abbot and should be involved but there are potential improvers in opposition. Tara Iti should leave his hurdle debut behind him and he’s greatly respected but RAMURE showed clear promise in three runs in France and she has been found a weak race for her British and stable debut.

13:30 – Writteninthesand

Mister Tickle may well get his own way out in front and shouldn’t be underestimated, while Holly James reverts to chasing on a feasible mark on his peak hurdle efforts. WRITTENINTHESAND (nap) produced a strong late run to win at Market Rasen last month though and there could be more to come from him.

14:00 – Pawpaw

The class-dropping Vorashann won easily over C&D last October and needs serious consideration at this level, while Court Royale, Northern Bound and Iron Heart can all have a case argued on their best form. PAWPAW has a four-month absence to contend with but he was firmly on the up when last seen and still has potential to do better.

14:30 – Guinness Affair

Prime Pretender has a good chance at today’s weights if the first-time cheekpieces bring out the best in him but his record under rules is already very mixed and this may be fought out by the two last-time-out winners. GUINNESS AFFAIR had the form of his Stratford success nicely boosted by the runner-up last month and gets the nod ahead of Bigbadmattie.

15:05 – He Is A Cracker

In a competitive race for the grade the suggestion is HE IS A CRACKER, who began his chasing career with two very promising runs at Stratford this summer and may still have a bit more to offer. Between The Waters has a pretty good record over C&D and is feared most but Goldencard and Le Pogues Storm also demand attention, having both performed very well at Uttoxeter on Wednesday.

15:35 – Snug As A Bug

Kentford Mallard comes here in good order and looks solid under suitable conditions, while Gibraltarian can go close if her stamina lasts and the return to Fontwell will suit Josie Abbing. The claims of SNUG AS A BUG are less obvious but she could prove a different proposition on her stable and handicap debut and over a trip she’s bred to stay.
