19:50 Wolverhampton –  Night Time Girl (nap)

Night Time Girl has shown only modest form so far, but she boasts a useful pedigree – she’s closely related to a smart sort in Solidarity – and offered enough encouragement on her handicap debut at Lingfield in Feburary to suggest she has started out on a fair mark.

Night Time Girl had made little impact in maidens but she showed more on her handicap debut when finishing fourth, beaten under two lengths. She was unable to sustain her effort on that occasion, but she impressed with how powerfully she travelled and could be worth marking up as she was hampered and stumbled after three furlongs.

It’s still early days in her career and there is surely better to come.

20:20 Wolverhampton: Wrath of Hector (next best)

Wrath of Hector was a beaten favourite at Lingfield last week but it’s worth overlooking that effort and instead concentrating on the positive impression he left when winning at Yarmouth previously.

Wrath of Hector looked to have been found a nice opportunity at Lingfield, but he was hampered at the start and left poorly placed, unable to land a blow as a result. He had run out a decisive winner of a minor event at Yarmouth last month, however, keeping on powerfully to score by three and a quarter lengths. He looks to be on a fair mark on that form and is well worth another chance.

18:50 Wolverhampton – Costello (each-way)

Costello failed to meet expectations at Bath last time, but he wasn’t ideally placed having been held up, so it is worth forgiving that effort. He ran well on his previous outing at Leicester, however, when beaten just over a length in fourth on what was his first start beyond a mile, and he could have a bit more to offer over this kind of trip.

He has been dropped a couple of pounds by the handicapper since running at Bath and should get a stronger pace to chase and looks up to making his presence felt.
