PUNTA CANAILLE is one of the more likely winners from this unraced field and with Maxime Guyon riding this looks an assignment well within reach. It’s hard to ignore a horse from the Jean-Claude Rouget stable and Valdarann is no exception. Representing powerhouse connections makes him an obvious choice. If Sport Coupe runs as well as his price tag suggests is capable of making the placings. Egot could be in the thick of the action but may find a couple too good. Place claims.
12.10 Vadaliya
VADALIYA ticks a few boxes and has a very credible chance of making this a winning debut. Isle Of White enters the race with high expectations. If she can live up to her price tag she’ll have a likely chance of success. Cassiopea is stoutly bred and holds every opportunity of going close in a race of this nature. Oh So Hot can throw down a challenge but the level of expectation will be indicated by the amount of support in the betting.
12.50 Moonlight Symphony
MOONLIGHT SYMPHONY claimed victory when last running over this trip. Worth noting that Vincent Cheminaud opts to ride her instead of a few others and though not the most obvious choice maintains a decent claim for victory. Amazing Grace might be seen to better effect after a poor effort at Longchamp especially in this more moderate affair. Royalist is likely to challenge with Maxime Guyon booked to ride. Can put recent effort behind her and go close.
13.25 San Fabrizio
This is a hard race to find any sort of edge in, as a couple have fair Group form already but they face some unexposed and well-bred rivals. Chachnak and Pisanello are the solid ones already proven at a respectable level but Hurricane Cloud, Another Sky and SAN FABRIZIO could easily improve past that pair here. Irshad isn’t dismissed but he’s the only one returning from a lengthy break.
14.00 Vadsena
VADSENA remains unbeaten in two career starts. Caught the eye with a 2L success at Salon de Provence in latest and takes a well-deserved step up in grade. Galova is proven at this level and above. Last seen placing second in listed company at Saint Cloud over 1600m and must be respected. Moon A Lisa was second in a Toulouse listed contest in May. Can use race-fitness to advantage. Gemcutter holds place claims.
14.35 American Apples
This doesn’t look overly strong for the level, but AMERICAN APPLES gets the vote. Her last run just about sets the standard but she does face some rivals who could step up on what they’ve done so far, namely Ebaiyra, Sassandra and Control Tower.
15.10 Persian King
PERSIAN KING has been consistent at a high level. Found success in G1 and G3 events and not seen since runner up in the French Derby one year ago. May need the outing but won’t have to be on best form to win this. Alzire secured victory at Saint Cloud last year over this distance. Recent Longchamp run will improve fitness. Needs respecting. Queen was twice second at G3 level last year. Best form makes for a big place chance and is on the shortlist.
15.45 Sea Wings
SEA WINGS is hard to ignore after eye catching second on return. Despite the step up in class could play a leading role in proceedings. Zitan aims to claim another success after a victory at Salon-De-Provence. With the same jockey on board will be sure to go close. Hard to see Speed’s Addict as a likely winner but equally as difficult to see him out of the frame. Strong place claim. Ni Chaud Ni Froid can improve on recent fourth placed effort with less of a weight burden.
16.20 Monte Cinto
MONTE CINTO has had two outings recently and is expected to be at peak fitness. Big chance. Augustine was an easy Moulins winner on last attempt. Up in class but still rates a big player. Karioitahi is a course and distance winner. Recent third gives place chances in this contest. Holocene Bere was third at Angers over this trip and if improving could be an each way prospect.
16.55 Joao
JOAO has failed to win after eight attempts however there is enough in the form-book to believe that a big run is on the cards. Every chance. Bene Bene recorded a recent fourth at Deauville which was encouraging. Merits respect. Full Tango looks promising. Latest Compiegne run suggests there is room for improvement. Another to keep an eye on. Ama Wild Life is usually a front runner. Might be an each way prospect.
