ALCALA didn’t do a lot wrong when finding only a useful point recruit too strong over C&D a month ago and a similar performance may well enable him to go one better. Federici failed to finish his race off behind the selection last time, so a bigger threat may emerge in the shape of Looking Well.

GET THE APPEAL was allowed the run of the race but nevertheless displayed a determined attitude to prevail when doubling her hurdles tally over 22f here last month. A 5-lb rise shouldn’t prevent another good run and she gets the nod up in trip. Henry’s Joy and low-mileage Dora de Janeiro head up the dangers.

CAPTAIN BUCK’S should have too much class for some moderate rivals provided he retains most of the ability that he showed for Paul Nicholls, so he’s an obvious choice to take this. Six A Side warrants respect based on his pointing exploits and Bletchley Castle can’t be completely dismissed.
