While we cry into our homemade hot whiskeys and mourn the loss of the European and PGA Tours, there is one shining light that brings us a little bit of joy here on the golfing trading floor. The Cactus Tour is a feeder tour for female professional golfers and it goes ahead, teeing off tomorrow – praise the lord.
Their limited field event this week has been put on at short notice to give a playing opportunity to LPGA & Symetra Tour players a chance to scrape off the competitive rust.

Traders Selection: Anna Nordqvist to win @ 11/4
Anna Nordqvist is the class act in the field. She competed in the Moon Valley Classic last week, an event on the historically all-male Outlaw Tour and led after Round One. Not only did she compete from 7,250 yards but she shot a bogey-free 8-under 64 among a field of 80 men, so she is fully familiar with the setup already.
“I’ve never really played the back tees before, so it was a little bit longer than I’m used to. But I was striking the ball really well,” said the 32-year-old Swede.
In the form she is in, she should be a class apart and think she deserves to top the betting market.
Outside Bet: Sophia Popov 14/1
The value may be in Sophia Popov at 14/1. The German had a really solid year on the Symetra Tour (LPGA 2nd tour). She has also finished second and sixth in her last two Cactus Tour events so should go close.
