Both Carlisle and Stockport have had some very healthy goal stats for the season. The Blues averaged 1.43 goals per League Two game while the Hatters scored 1.41 goals per league game this season. Carlisle have scored seven over their last five as well with Stockport also netting seven over their last five as well. With both teams in robust goal-scoring form we have to start off with a Both Teams to Score pick.
Kristian Dennis to Score Anytime
Ben Barclay scored the Extra Time winner against Bradford on Saturday last to steer Carlisle to Wembley but he will not play on Sunday as he’s on loan from Stockport. The Blues should, however, have top scorer Kristian Dennis back following his training ground injury thanks to smashing into a mannequin.
Dennis’ goals have been paramount to Carlisle this season, scoring 20 times for the Blues this season. We reckon he’s going to be in the Starting XI here and with his clinical eye for goal we’re marking him down as the most likely to score. It’s Kristian Dennis to Score Anytime.
Paddy Madden to Have 1 or More Shots on Target
There’s a rather giant Kyle Wootton-sized hole in Stockport’s attack. Their leading goal scorer has had to miss the remainder of the season following a bad knee injury in April. Manager Dave Challinor has been rotating between a front two of Paddy Madden, Isaac Olaofe and Jack Stretton of late but we need to look at Madden here. The former Carlisle player has 10 goals and four assists for the season and he should be testing Tom Holy between the Carlisle sticks at some stage and for Paddy Madden to Have 1 or More Shots on Target.

Over 3.5 Cards
Both sides have been fairly well-behaved over the season, Stockport collected just 67 bookings in the league while their opponents chalked up 85. That seems like quite a few but it’s Wimbledon who finished as the worst offenders with 108 cards, as they did their best to revive the old Crazy Gang days.
The sides have picked up 13 and 11 cards over their last five games meaning we should see a fair few cards here. Things get tense in finals as we all know and we’re likely to see a few cynical fouls here, especially if one of the sides is leading going into the final 10-15 minutes. With both picking up more than two cards per game of late, we should see Over 3.5 Cards over the 90 minutes.

Both sides have averaged fairly high corner counts for the season with the Blues averaging 5.20 league games and the Hatters averaging 5.41 over the season so far. As mentioned above, finals tend to be tense affairs but as the clock ticks down teams simply have to push and we’re expecting to see a decent amount of late corners here and with both displaying high stats for the season we think Over 9.5 Corners should easily be covered.
