England finally get their World Cup 2022 campaign underway on Monday afternoon with expected Group B whipping boys Iran first up. England were dire in the Nations League and haven’t looked their best since the Euros last summer. However, no matter how bad they’ve been playing going into the tournament, the Three Lions should be winning this.

Jordan Pickford has never let England down, and I don’t think he’ll be kept too busy here. I can’t see Gareth Southgate’s side conceding against the Iranians. I really fancy Both Teams to Score? No.

Harry Kane to Score Anytime

He won the Golden Boot in 2018 and can get off the mark early this time around too. The Tottenham man is two behind Wayne Rooney’s 53-goal record and could even do that in this game so it has to be Kane to Score Anytime.

Over 2.5 Goals

I don’t fancy Iran to score, but I think England can get plenty and get their tournament off to a perfect start so it’s Over 2.5 Goals as my final selection.
