Jesse Lingard devastated as Declan Rice unfollows him on Instagram

Heartbreaking scenes

Manchester United favourite Jesse Lingard is understood to be “inconsolable” having been unfollowed on Instagram by former West Ham teammate and short-term BFF, Declan Rice.

Having developed a great understanding on the pitch and a brilliant friendship off it during Lingard’s time on loan at West Ham last season, sources close to the pair have confirmed serious strain was put on the relationship when Lingard returned to Old Trafford, leaving Rice alone and unhappy in east London, and Lingard’s winning goal on Sunday was the final straw.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

Despite enjoying a cosy Nando’s together on Saturday night, onlookers confirmed that Rice made his feelings clear to Jesse that the long-distance relationship wasn’t working out, and with Lingard going on to net a last gasp winner for the reds in front of the Irons faithful the following day, the West Ham captain was left with no alternative but to sever all social media ties with the man he once called “my boo”.

“I’m heartbroken. We had been working on a DR hand gesture I could do to the camera when I score like he does with his JL hands,” confirmed Rice.

“Most people know that I was in a high-profile long-term BFF type of friendship at a young age with Mason Mount, so when that ended, I worried I wouldn’t find that connection again. Then Jesse came into my life and changed everything. He inspired me to play a fake flute, explore the world of on-pitch dance moves to antagonise opposition fans, and we even created a cool handshake, just for us.

“I always thought my biggest fear in life would be to see my girlfriend copping off with Cristiano Ronaldo – seeing Jesse celebrating with him in the 90th minute this weekend was worse!

“It sent chills up my spine and that’s why I had to remove his socials. I can’t look at him now.”

Paddy Power News contacted the representatives of Jesse Lingard who had this to say.

“Jesse would like you all to respect his privacy during these challenging times. His wish is to sit indoors alone whilst listening to his Taylor Swift albums.”

If rumours are to be believed, it is understood Lingard is not ready to give up on his friendship with Rice yet, with plans afoot to use the profits from his JLingz merchandise line to fund a United move to sign Rice for Manchester United in the next transfer window.
