While the crowds may have been down a bit yesterday, there was still plenty of wonderful stories to keep the interest high in the FA Cup.
Admittedly most of the big boys made it through, but three Premier League clubs did exit at the first time of asking at the hands of lower league opposition.
Millwall, Oxford United, Derby County, Wolves all upset the applecart of their loftier opposition, while National League table toppers Lincoln City came within four minutes of dumping out Championship Ipswich.
We love a good shock at Paddy Power and since the kind folks at FATV upload FA Cup highlights to YouTube, we decided to put all the shocks from the Third Round in one place for you to enjoy.
Check them out below:
League One Millwall claimed the biggest scalp of the round taking out Premier League Bournemouth 3-0 at the Den.
Wolves haven’t been tearing up trees in the Championship of late, but they did spring a surprise to beat Stoke City 2-0 away from home.
Derby County had no time for the notion that West Brom are one of the Premier League’s form teams and the Championship outfit scored a 1-2 away win at The Hawthorns.
It may not has registered on the Richter scale, but League One Oxford United plundered a sweet little 3-2 victory away to the Championship’s bottom side Rotherham.
Okay it wasn’t a shock, but Lincoln City were ever so close to taking out Ipswich- who are three divisions above them. Tom Lawrence spared the home sides blushes late on to make it 2-2 and force a replay at Sincil Bank.
