Paddy Power have installed David Moyes as the new favourite for the Aston Villa job, after a surge of bets yesterday.
The Scot is now 5/6 to succeed Steve Bruce, after we were forced to cut his price from a 12/1 outsider.
That puts him well ahead of early front-runners Dean Smith (12/1) and Paulo Fonseca (10/1) at the top of the betting.
Thierry Henry is now the 4/1 second favourite to take up the post at Villa Park, while former defender John Terry is a 16/1 outsider among the other high-profile candidates.
Asked about the move on Moyes spokesman Paddy Power said: “A lot of money has come very fast for Moyes, with the traders dropping his price faster than his Sunderland team a few years back.
“To be fair to Moysie, he restored his reputation somewhat at West Ham last season, so maybe the claret and blue suits him?”
5/6 David Moyes
4/1 Thierry Henry
8/1 Brendan Rodgers
10/1 Paulo Fonseca
12/1 Dean Smith
