Crystal Palace v West Brom, Saturday 3.00pm
Conor Wickham, Frazier Campbell, Saido Berahino, Salomon Rondon and Rickie Lambert. The strikers potentially on show at Selhurst Park hardly gets the blood pumping, and therefore it might be wise to back No Goalscorer. Both teams failed to score in 14 games last season and Tony Pulis and Alan Pardew would settle for an opening day point.

Everton v Tottenham, Saturday 3.00pm
Romelu Lukakau is a doubt for the Toffees, while Harry Kane didn’t open his Premier League account until the end of September last season so it might be worth taking on Spurs’ star again at Goodison Park. Ronald Koeman will no doubt have tightened up Everton’s defence since Roberto Martinez left, but Dele Alli scored against Inter Milan in pre-season and can find the net again.
Middlesbrough v Stoke, Saturday 3.00pm
Boro kept 15 clean sheets in 23 games at home last year and have built their promotion winning side on the back of a rock-solid defence. Mark Hughes’ Stoke side failed to score in 37 per cent of their games on the road last season and it could be another stalemate on Saturday, so we’re plumping for No Goalscorer in the Hotshot Jackpot.
Southampton v Watford, Saturday 3.00pm
Watford have yet another new manager at the helm in the form of Walter Mazzarri, yet things aren’t rosy for the Hornets. A disjointed new season and rumours of discontent during training peaked with a 2-0 loss to QPR and this game may come a little to early for the away side who are unsettled. Shane Long will be up top for Saints and he can keep us going here. Remember the Germany goal, yeah? Lovely.
Manchester City v Sunderland, Saturday 5.30pm
Sergio Aguero. We don’t really need to go into much detail here – his five Premier League seasons have thrown up the following goal tallies: 23-12-17-26-24. Pep Guardiola will unleash the beast, and we could go to bed happy if we’re through the first five matches.
Bournemouth v Manchester United, Sunday 1.30pm
Zlatan Ibrahimovic proved in the Community Shield that he can be quiet for the majority of the game, yet still pop up with the goods. He’s odds-on to score anytime away to Bournemouth and it would be hard to ignore a man who averaged a league goal every 91 minutes for PSG across four seasons in France. It’s hardly a surprising choice, but you’d be a brave man to oppose Zlatan.
Arsenal v Liverpool, Sunday 4.00pm
The Gunners defence is in ribbons with Per Mertesacker, Gabriel missing through injury, while Laurent Koscielny got an extended break after Euro 2016. Therefore we’re plumping for a Liverpool man, and with Daniel Sturridge always a doubt due to legs made of fine china, we’re sticking with Robert Firmino who has been playing in a more advanced role in pre-season.
Chelsea v West Ham, Monday 8.00pm
If we make it to Monday night still in with a chance we’ll be in dreamland. Antonio Conte has dabbled with a number of different formations which casts doubt over Diego Costa and new signing Michy Batshuayi, while Dimitri Payet was in action all the way through to the Euro 2016 final so we’re keen not to put too much pressure on him. Instead we’re plumping for Eden Hazard who showed a glimmer of his former self at the tail-end of last season and can start the new campaign with a bang under the new boss.
