As the debate rages over whether Strictly Come Dancing should feature same-sex couples, we make it odds-on that the show will – but next series.
Our traders make it 4/6 that the 2018 series features a same-sex couple, and evens for two dancers of the same gender to be matched in this year’s Christmas special.
Ahead of the show’s kick off on Saturday night, JLS singer Aston Merrygold is favourite (3/1) to win, ahead of Saturdays popstar Mollie King and X Factor winner Alexandra Burke (both 4/1).
Didn't #StrictlyComeDancing do well with that VERY emotional tribute to Sir Bruce Forsyth? ?? https://t.co/hxAtl47vpH pic.twitter.com/Sy6VARUCBn

Actress and model Gemma Atkinson is next in the betting (11/2), ahead of Paralympian Jonnie Peacock (9/1).
Paddy Power is also 2/1 that the show is struck by the now infamous ‘Strictly Curse’ at least once.
Spokesman Paddy Power said: “I don’t know about same-sex dance partners, but I guess it is one way of tackling the so-called Strictly Curse.
“Generally, I don’t see a problem with it anyway. When I go out for a few scoops, I end up dancing with a load of lads anyway.
“Especially if I’m in Coppers – you’ve no choice in that place.”
