Saturday’s Lucky 15 Tips

Each and every day of the racing year we bring you a bumper NAPs table to give you the inside scoop on all the plays you’ll need that day.
Don’t know what a NAPs Table is? We’ll tell you! It’s an independently run competition involving the cream of the British and Irish racing press whose positions in the table are based on their profits to Level Stakes. And just like all sports competitions worldwide, those doing best are towards the top of the table.

So, we decided to put that golden guide to the test and use it to steer you towards what could be a savvy Lucky 15 (4 horses, 15 bets) today. The four you’ll see below are the selections of some of the top-performing tipsters in the Table. Let’s get to the picks…
15:40 – Royal Ascot – Wellington – Cambridge Evening News
Durable 6f/7f performer with 12 wins to his name from 23 attempts; has found the current Hong Kong superstar Lucky Sweynesse too strong in his four races this year, bit below par when third of eight in Group 1 last time out, but WELLINGTON does have leading claims if able to translate the pick of his Sha Tin form (unraced elsewhere) to Ascot.
17:00 – Royal Ascot – Lethal Levi – Liverpool Echo
Four 6f wins in 2022 (good to firm/good to soft); started to look as though the handicapper had caught up towards the end of that campaign but a close second to Bielsa at York in May suggests that LETHAL LEVI could get the bit between his teeth again in the coming weeks; this does ask for extra though.
17:35 – Royal Ascot – Cuban Dawn – The Punt
Similar form in Listed race at the Curragh and when a close second in good-ground maidens at Cork and Gowran Park, all over 1m last month; changed hands for £300,000 on Monday; CUBAN DAWN needs improvement but the big positive, backed up by his performances, is that he’s bred to be very well suited by further than 1m; unexposed and needs a close look.
18:10 – Royal Ascot – Dawn Rising – Morning Star
When the going gets tough, Stratum gets going and this grand old lad has a very good chance to complete a hat-trick in British Flat racing’s longest event. However, DAWN RISING is another who should be boxing on when others have cried enough and this 6yo was a smart Flat horse before making a name for himself over jumps this past winter. Irish stables boast a formidable hand as another with strong claims is last season’s Cesarewitch winner Run For Oscar, for whom this smacks of a Byrnes masterplan, while Falcon Eight was in spitting distance of Stratum 12 months ago. Best of the British could be The Grand Visir, who ran yet another notable race at this meeting in Tuesday’s Ascot Stakes.
