17:30 – Mountain Queen
18:00 – Rhythm N Hooves
18:30 – Rock Chant
19:00 – One More Dream
19:30 – Mcqueen
20:00 – Monaadhil
20:30 – Smooth Ryder

17:00 – They Dont Know

THEY DON’T KNOW remains a maiden after 20 starts, but he ran his best race since joining Tony Carroll when runner-up over course and distance last week, benefiting from a drop back in trip, return to handicap company and reapplication of blinkers. He pulled clear of the remainder with one who was well in under a penalty, so he makes a fair bit of appeal turned out quickly from the same mark. Early Morning Dew and Kenilworth King should also go well.

17:30 – Mountain Queen

MOUNTAIN QUEEN built on previous promise when opening her account over an extended nine furlongs at Wolverhampton in November last year, looking potentially useful as she easily pulled clear of another promising filly. Mountain Queen was easy to back at the off on her return from four months off at Southwell recently, but still turned in a solid effort on her handicap debut, though the drop back to a mile seemingly counted against her. She is entitled to have come on for that outing and is a horse to remain interested in, especially now moving back up in trip. My Little Queens and Wynter Wildes are feared most.

18:00 – Rhythm N Hooves

This doesn’t look the strongest race of its type and it is an excellent opportunity for RHYTHM N HOOVES to record another win. He showed plenty of ability when going down narrowly to one with previous experience on his debut at Wolverhampton and had no problem going one place better at Newcastle last time, showing improved form while still not looking the finished article. He is a speedy type who should have too much in the locker for these. Beau Roc and Rhythmic Acclaim can fight it out for the minor honours.

18:30 – Rock Chant

ROCK CHANT had fallen in the weights and proved well suited by the step up to two miles when opening his account at Lingfield last month, quickening clear in the final furlong in good style. He was well placed to follow up under a penalty just five days later, not needing any further progress on the day but travelling as if he may still have more to offer at staying trips. Rock Chant was conceding 20 lb to the pair that beat him turned out under another penalty at Newcastle last time and that form looks solid for the grade, so he remains a horse to be interested in now he has been given more time to get over those relatively quick runs. Recent course winner What Will Be and Cedar Cage are just two potential threats.

19:00 – One More Dream

ONE MORE DREAM returned to near his best form when recording a fourth career success over six furlongs at Newcastle and, while he was undoubtedly well positioned given how the race unfolded, he did show a good attitude to fight back once headed. He has ran solid races in defeat since, collared only in the dying strides over this trip at Southwell last time, and he seems sure to launch another bold bid. Buckshaw Village stepped up on his reappearance run when making the frame here last time and could be the main danger.

19:30 – Mcqueen

MCQUEEN hasn’t won for over a year, but he is a consistent sort in general, who didn’t run badly when third over a mile at this course last month. That looked a fair race for the grade and he appeared sharper for the refitting of headgear, racing freely and having no extra in the closing stages. The drop back to seven furlongs looks a good move on that evidence and he looks the percentage play in an open handicap. Thomas Equinas also arrives in good heart and is feared most, with Global Tycoon the pick of the remainder.

20:00 – Monaadhil

MONAADHIL ended last year in good form, recording a second course and distance win of the campaign on his penultimate outing, and he returns from a short break still on a competitive mark. He can continue in that vein with his yard going well and is taken to see off the challenge of Cappananty Con, who has dropped to a career-low mark, while Shining Crystal could also be capable of playing a part.

20:30 – Smooth Ryder

This doesn’t look a strong handicap and it is hard to oppose SMOOTH RYDER, who has finished runner-up on his last three starts, but there isn’t anything wrong with his attitude. He bumped into a well-treated handicap debutant over a mile and a quarter at this course last week, but he pulled well clear of the remainder, and he promises to be well suited by this much longer trip. Sexy Rexy can emerge as the chief threat.
