It’s very hard to get away from QUEL REVE on hurdling debut. She created a telling impression in a Tramore bumper on debut and should be hard to stop here. The Gordon Elliott pair of Pats Choice and Come On Du Berlais are both of interest, while Action Station may be suited by a return to hurdling.

17:00 – Champagne Problem
There was lots to like about how CHAMPAGNE PROBLEM won at Cork last time and she looks hard to oppose here, especially with the mares’ allowance to help. Roaring Potter can give her most to think about, with Senecia taken to fill the placings.
17:35 – Sargent Lightfoot
Although he will need to be slicker over his hurdles, it could be worth sticking with C&D winner SARGENT LIGHTFOOT, who never really got into the race at Cork last time after a tardy start. Wojood and Lariat head the list of dangers.
18:10 – Run For Pat (NAP)
A maiden hurdle which may not take too much winning and possibly a good opportunity for RUN FOR PAT (nap). Its Vango could well appreciate this step up in trip, while Valley Breeze faces a lesser task than at Galway but could struggle over this extended trip if not settling.
18:45 – Crobally Boy
Having shown promise earlier in his career, CROBALLY BOY could belatedly get off the mark after a cracking run at Roscommon last time. Good Man Turk, Chief Seattle, Back The West and Rudy Catrail can give him most to do.
19:20 – Siberian Prince
Some familar faces here but this could revolve around two novices making their handicap debuts. SIBERIAN PRINCE has turned a corner of late on this better ground and with likely more to come off this mark, gets the nod over the mare Brave Way.

Several of these have squeaks. Preference is for THECOMPANYSERGEANT, who ran with great credit on rules debut at Galway and is entitled to improve plenty. Song For My Father has 4.5l to find with him on that running, while Lake Winnipesaukee and Special Rate are others worth considering.
