17:00 – Chargo

A low-key start to the juvenile hurdling campaign. Soft ground is a possible concern in regard to CHARGO but Gordon Elliott’s runner looks the most interesting of these on limited Flat evidence. Poets Cottage also comes from a stable consistently associated with well-schooled juvenile hurdlers and his last Flat run is probably best ignored. The latter remark could also apply to Adhuil. Tory Reel has shown little but is of some interest on pedigree.

17:35 – Madam Belle

Former bumper winner Double Talkin Jive could be popular on his handicap debut, but it may pay to take a chance instead with MADAM BELLE, a mare who has also shown ability in bumpers and is unexposed over hurdles. Movie King would be interesting if getting a run as the first reserve. Lizlucky Jakie Mac and Rips Dream are also worth considering.]

18:10 – Saint Roi

The conditions of the race favour the Champion Hurdle fourth SAINT ROI who is weighted to reverse Punchestown form with Darasso. A bigger danger is probably Sole Pretender who takes a break from his novice chasing campaign in a bid to repeat last year’s win in this event. Shewearsitwell can challenge for a share of the money.

18:45 – Troubled Times

TROUBLED TIMES looked very smart when winning a Killarney bumper on debut, with the second going on to frank the form at Listowel earlier this month. She’s a half-sister to the smart hurdles winner Honest Vic and may prove a tough nut to crack on hurdles debut. Lasparas and Glenglass can give her most to think about, while Time Marches On, Essential Part and newcomer Nicoles Getaway are others to keep an eye on.

19:20 – Nelly’s Money (NAP)

Good race with five last-time-out winners. The selection is NELLY’S MONEY (nap). Robert Tyner’s mare has been ultra-consistent this term, rarely ever finishing out of the frame, and looked very good when winning over fences at Wexford last time. She makes plenty of appeal off a 3lb lower hurdle mark. Sweet Sting loves this venue and should not be ignored, while Navigator Jack was very game at Listowel last time and will relish conditions. Kingston Retreat, Moving Water and The Big Chap complete the shortlist.

19:50 – Bearwithmenow

Few with chances. Killinure Lass got the better of Rosy Story and Whatsstoppingyou at Kilbeggan and is only raised 4lb. Preference, however, is for recent Wexford scorer BEARWITHMENOW. He got off the mark there in very good style, which should do his confidence the world of good, and can cope with an extra 7lb here. Lily Light Foot is likely to be there as she always is, while Hoganville could go well.

20:20 – Vadsa Queen

Some nice prospects in here and VADSA QUEEN gets the vote. She didn’t settle at Ballinrobe last time but she showed enough at the Punchestown festival to suggest she’ll be winning summer bumpers and she’s the one to beat. Gaoth Chuil can give another good account and Ballystone warrants respect on Rules debut.
