The 2022 York Dante Festival has certainly delivered and we go again one last time on Friday where the Paddy Power Yorkshire Cup is the pick of the action.
 WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!
We had your back for the opening two days of the Festival and we’ve come up trumps once again with another Cheat Sheet brimming with savvy selections from our prize pundits for all the action on ITV Racing today.
Ruby Walsh, Matt Chapman, Jason Weaver, Rory Delargy and our racing boffins Timeform have been studying the form and crunching the numbers ahead of the third and final day of the Festival up on the Knavesmire.
First up, we’ve got the EBF Marygate Fillies’ Stakes at 13:50 where Miami Girl gets a lot of love from Paddy’s pundits.
And, of course, there’s the Paddy Power Yorkshire Cup at 15:35 where the mighty Stradivarius goes for glory once again but he’s opposed by Ruby and Timeform with Search For A Song.
And there are plenty of other picks to choose from across the rest of the card, read on for all you need to know….

I loved the way MIAMI GIRL reacted to a flick from the whip as they met the rising ground at Newmarket and the way she then hit the line. I’m with her!
Matt Chapman
MIAMI GIRLÂ showed loads of ability when winning at Newmarket first time and should come on for that experience plenty. Looks useful.
Jason Weaver
MISS AMERICAN PIE looked mighty impressive when winning at Windsor on her racecourse debut and has been completely overlooked in the market. A huge each-way player.Â
Rory Delargy
Pillow Talk finished second at Nottingham in April but I thought she looked the best filly in the race. She could have improved significantly from that.
Timeform
MIAMI GIRL made a highly promising start when overcoming greenness in impressive fashion at Newmarket 12 days ago and shades the vote in a race full of potential.
Ruby Walsh
I’m going to take a chance and go with GRANDE DAME. She did really well to win on debut but on her second start now, she’s going to have to run to a mark of around 100 to win. However, there could be plenty in the locker.
Matt Chapman
Frankie Dettori takes over on Royal Ascot winner GRANDE DAME and the daughter of Lope de Vega will have come on plenty. She could be very good.
Jason Weaver
GRAND DAMEÂ has some fancy entries up at the highest level so needs to be taking this on her march towards a much higher rating.
Rory Delargy
Girl On Film could be very smart. She won on her debut at Newmarket in August and she stepped up well in the Rockfel Stakes behind Hello You and Cachet. She could have improved since then too.
Timeform
It was hard not to be impressed by the way GRANDE DAME got off the mark first time up at Ascot just over a fortnight ago, never subjected to more than a hands-and-heels ride and leaving the impression there’s quite a lot more to come. Entered in the Coronation Stakes, she gets the verdict to maintain her unbeaten record upped in class.
Ruby Walsh
Trainer Ed Walker puts blinkers on Parachute for the first time and he has a good each-way chance now he is dropped back in trip.
Matt Chapman
ROGUE BEAR deserves to take a decent prize after two solid efforts when third in the Lincoln and the Spring Cup. The step up in trip should help.
Jason Weaver
BELLOCCIO ran into very hot company last season and appreciated the drop down in grade on his return last time. He should be returning to graded class soon.
Rory Delargy
Rogue Bear will be very hard to beat. He finished third in the Lincoln and was only beaten half a length in the Spring Cup at Newbury by Modern News who has won since.
Timeform
ROGUE BEAR has been a pretty big eyecatcher on both his starts this year, and with this trip expected to be within range, he can gain a deserved success.
Ruby Walsh
As Stradivarius gets older it can’t be easier to get him fit – especially first time out. I’ll be with SEARCH FOR A SONG as she has the run behind Kyprios at Navan under her belt.
Matt Chapman
Hard to oppose old boy STRADIVARIUS even at the age of eight. He should be good enough still to give weight away including 6lb to Search for a Song.
Jason Weaver
It’s time for a younger stayer to upstage the mighty Stradivarius. TASHKHAN was a massive improver towards the back end of last season and can step up onto the big stage now.
Rory Delargy
I fancy Thunderous to get the job done. He’s had two runs this season and he finished second at Chester last week so he’s fit. He won’t set the race up for Stradivarius by giving him an easy lead. Expect this to be very tactical.
Timeform
Having been kept in training as a 6-y-o mare, SEARCH FOR A SONG looks set for another productive season on the back of a sound reappearance, and in receipt of weight all round, is a tempting alternative to Stradivarius.
Ruby Walsh
It’s very difficult to assess New Comedy who turns up for his third career run in a handicap off a mark of 87. The jockey bookings by Charlie Appleby suggest Wild Crusade is the first string with James Doyle aboard. New Comedy could be the improver though under Frankie Dettori.
Matt Chapman
SPEYCASTER is interesting here stepped up in distance and looked like he would relish this 12f trip when third over 10f at Nottingham last time. Could be progressive.
Jason Weaver
Wild Crusade switches to turf racing for the first time and may get caught out by SPEYCATCHER who can build on his Nottingham run.
Rory Delargy
Speycaster ran really well on his return at Nottingham in April. He didn’t look 100 per cent fit that day and he could have improved plenty and the step up in trip should suit.
Timeform
Both of Charlie Appleby’s runners are open to further improvement bidding for hat-tricks. Narrow preference is for WILD CRUSADE, who continued with his progression when scoring on handicap debut at Kempton last month and, nudged up 5 lb for that success, he gets the verdict to make a winning start on the turf and get the better of stablemate New Comedy.
