16:50 Getaway Mission

Several of these are unexposed over fences and the betting market could be quite lively. GETAWAY MISSION has a very modest record over hurdles but he returned from an 831-day layoff with a reasonably encouraging run last month, and it looks significant that his connections have persisted with him. He sports cheekpieces on today’s chasing debut and might be worth chancing. Gastara, another chasing debutant, ran well over hurdles last month and is second choice, while Give Us A Swig is interesting if judged on his second at Ffos Las in February.

17:20 Juniper

Poniente created a very good visual impression when winning by 13l at Fontwell in February but she was given a well-judged ride by Charlie Deutsch there and, to some extent at least, may have been flattered by the way that race panned out. Slight preference is for JUNIPER, who was raised only 3lb for her front-running success at Warwick last month and remains unexposed over this sort of trip. Wheesht was below form last time but will be dangerous off her current mark if back on song.

17:50 Dancingontheedge

Paul Nicholls’ newcomer DANCINGONTHEEDGE is a half-sister to some useful French jumpers and probably doesn’t need to be anything special to make a winning debut here. She gets the nod ahead of Pebbly Lunar Lady, who was a shade disappointing on Polytrack in December but made a promising debut on turf a year ago. Horizon Dove should also be on the premises.

18:20 Patient Dream (NAP)

This can go to former useful Flat-racer PATIENT DREAM (nap), who looks well handicapped if judged on his Wetherby second in November. He can easily be excused his Grade 2 defeat last time. Halifax was just a respectable third on his recent handicap debut but remains open to improvement. Super Duper Sam is much better than he showed at Plumpton last time and is next on the list.

18:50 Iron Bridge

He’s unraced on ground other than soft and has fitness to prove after a 173-day break but IRON BRIDGE looked a good prospect when winning on his stable/hurdle debut in the autumn and can maintain his unbeaten record. Ted’s Friend was below form on his handicap debut in January but has more than enough ability to make a race of this.

Worcester Races

19:20 Earth Business

The most persuasive option is EARTH BUSINESS, who is unpenalised for his win in a conditional jockeys’ handicap at Exeter in February and posted another good effort there last month. Grace A Vous Enki and/or Thunderstuck will be dangerous if back in peak form but last-time-out winner Dom Of Mary could have untapped potential over today’s longer trip and is nominated as second choice.

19:50 Wetanwindy

Progressive 7yo WETANWINDY was not discredited when a well-held second to a revitalised opponent at Exeter a fortnight ago and is probably still on a good mark. He gets the vote ahead of handicap debutant Ballaquane, who is open to improvement if aided by the fitting of cheekpieces. Get Prepared, Pottlerath and Black Buble are others for the shortlist.
