RORY DELARGY:
“If Conflated runs, he has a chance, but the Gold Cup could be the best race for him. I got the impression from Gordon Elliot after the Paddy Power Irish Gold Cup that the Ryanair Chase is in his sights. Davy Russell gave him a great ride and he pushed the button at the right time in that race.
“Conflated was in his comfort zone in the Irish Gold Cup as the race didn’t have a huge pace to it. If they go the same pace as last year’s Ryanair, I can see him making mistakes. He might not be able to find that rhythm he needs.

“Eldorado Allen wasn’t on my mind until last weekend. They could supplement him for the Gold Cup but that’s a fair step up from 2m7f at Newbury to the full Gold Cup trip. His form didn’t step up massively in his Newbury win last weekend but he did show that he has plenty of stamina. He hasn’t always shown that which is a major positive.
“He’s clearly a stronger horse now and they rode him as if they’ve got a lot of confidence in him. He did everything really nicely and it was a good performance. The Ryanair Chase is definitely the race for him and he’s tactically versatile.
“He won’t really mind what the ground is and it won’t be an issue if it’s a strong pace too. He can sit second or at the back of the field. We’ve overlooked him for a while but he could shine here.”
