12:05 Chepstow – Ruby Yeats (Daily Telegraph, Marlborough)

RUBY YEATS was well treated on her Exeter win in the mud last January but she’s been well below form in last three starts, most recently when a well-held third of six at Plumpton two weeks ago. The drops back in trip and grade should see a return to form.

14:15 Chepstow – Mahon Point (Morning Star, Farringdon)

MAHON POINT kept on for fifth in 2m3f bumper on sole Irish start, then won a British point last May. Also a respectable third in 2m bumper here on debut for Fergal O’Brien, staying on from a difficult position. A major player back up in trip.

15:10 Newcastle – The Mackem Torpedo (Andy Morris)

THE MACKEM TORPEDO was not far behind Harvest Day over C&D last month but failed to fire at Wolverhampton last week, but was not helped by being caught out wide. A very appealing each-way price.

15:50 Chepstow – Gemirande (Steve Mullington)

GEMIRANDE won on chasing debut in France in early 2020 but had a very mixed record over hurdles in first five runs for current yard last season, However, he returned to chasing with a good second at Southwell last month. Now only 1lb higher here and he’s open to more progress in this sphere. Will be a big player.
