QUEEN’S FAIR ran a very encouraging debut at Kempton a fortnight ago and she should be able to build on that to shed her maiden tag at the second time of asking. Haija sets a decent standard on her form to date but she’s had plenty of time off the track which tempers enthusiasm. Pleasant Charm has a solid pedigree and could make the frame on debut.

Tell’em Nowt is preferred to Beryl The Peril of the last-time-out Tapeta scorers but the latter’s trainer may land the spoils with THE FIRST HURRAH. She was sent off 9-2 when starting out for him in a C&D 0-65 two weeks ago and can step forward from that first outing in 64 days. Excelinthejungle will be a big threat if settling.
14:00 – Darwell Lion
Much will depend on who copes best tactically but 3yo DARWELL LION, who justified favouritism in a small field over C&D when starting out for David O’Meara this month, can continue to improve. Perhaps Starry Eyes will bounce back and chase him home.

Cherish, who bids for win number eight of the year, is respected along with Araifjan (second choice). However, OOH IS IT is taken to turn the tables on The Daley Express, who also has a chance, from their C&D clash 25 days ago and prove best.
15:00 – Tipperary Tiger
This is devilishly difficult with recent C&D winner Invincible Larne feared along with Stay Smart and Ballyare, who were the two to take out of a lesser C&D contest on the same card. With his latest fourth working out well, and grounds to believe he’d have gone closer granted a better draw/track position, TIPPERARY TIGER is the pick.
15:30 – Porfin
Two standouts and PORFIN (nap) can go one better than at Kempton on Friday and further enhance his trainer’s reputation of doing well with cheap purchases. Royal Heart rather threw it away last time and is up 3lb, but rates the biggest danger.
16:05 – Astrophysics
The 9yo ASTROPHYSICS has been running well over 5f here of late and can return to winning ways with this return to 6f a likely positive. Bernard Spierpoint is next on the list after his close third at Chelmsford, ahead of Sword Exceed who was an unlucky fifth at Lingfield last month.
