It wouldn’t be a normal week without one lucky punter giving us a spanking and last Saturday was no different when an Irish punter turned a €1 Lucky 15 (€15) into a stunning €37,239 after all four legs of their bet landed.
Our winner – who hails from Co Clare – placed his stake on four selections at two of the UK’s all weather tracks in Newcastle and Wolverhampton and then sat back and watched as the 2,482/1 drama unfolded.
Our punter was first focused on the 16:30 at Newcastle, where the first leg of his four picks was Vindobala (11/1). The Tjade Collier-trained filly travelled well and challenged late on to beat Spartan Fighter by half a length to leave our pal already close to covering his stake on the singles part of his wager.
Attention then turned to Blackcurrent in the 17:00 at the same venue with Alan Brown’s runner going off at 22/1. The five-year-old pushed on, took the lead with 1f left and just held on to win by a neck. With two picks up and two to go on the four legs of the bet, our pal was well ahead of the posse with two singles and a double already rolling onto selection number three.

And this is where the dream really starts to take shape as Sweet Glance (9/2) get the job done in the 18.45 at Wolverhampton where jockey Shane Kelly took the lead within the final furlong to win by half a length.
Three winning picks from four so far and our winning punter’s nerves must have been shot as there were now three singles, three doubles and a treble steamrolling into his fourth and final selection, Invincible Larne in the 19:15 at Wolverhampton.
You can probably guess the rest as the five-year-old gelding started slowly but recovered to fly home by a length at 11/1 to land all four legs and 15 bets in the Lucky 15, to see our Clare Champion scoop a €37,239 payout from Paddy.

Our punter is clearly a fan of the all-weather tracks as his four combined selections made it a weekend to remember.
