13:15 Steel An Icon

Returning to the C&D of his two successes last September, Billy No Mates has to be of interest on his seasonal reappearance with his yard in good form. However, he faces a tough opponent in the in-form front-runner STEEL AN ICON who narrowly missed out on a five-timer last time and won’t be inconvenienced by this return to 1m6f. Noonday Gun is consistent and may take third place.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

13:50 Great Havana

Having attracted support on his debut, Skittlebombz may be able to leave an ordinary effort behind, as should Mitbaahy, who was well held at Newmarket. However, they face a couple of potentially-decent rivals in GREAT HAVANA and Claim To Fame, who are preferred in that order. The selection shaped quite well on his debut at Newmarket and, hailing from a stable bristling with 2yo talent, looks the one to be on. Forgivable, Global Wisdom and Muveran are interesting newcomers.

14:25 Dream Together

Much will depend on underfoot conditions. Assuming the forecast warm spell materialises and the ground quickens up, it may pay to side with DREAM TOGETHER, who won on a lively surface at Thirsk on his seasonal reappearance and is only 1lb higher. The dangers are headed (in order) by Lockdown Lass and Tommy Tittlemouse.

15:00 Water Of Leith

This is wide open. Marginal preference is for WATER OF LEITH, who has steadied the ship with two fair efforts after wind surgery. Twist Of Hay is feared most, ahead of Seneca Chief.

15:35 Mehdinah

Plenty of guesswork is involved given all of the six runners may have more to offer now handicapping. Perhaps the answer may be MEHDINAH, who seemed to find 6f too far last time and may be nicely treated on this return to 5f. Topweight Lucky Shake may give her most to do.

16:10 Mutasaabeq

With Asad appearing outclassed, the 3yos look set to dominate. Baradar ended his juvenile campaign with a fine effort in a Group 1 at Doncaster and will be a big threat if primed to go on his seasonal reappearance. However, he may just need this to put an edge on him and with Fivethousandtoone having had just the one disappointing run this season, MUTASAABEQ looks the most likely winner. Things have not gone right for him on his last two starts, but he looked top class when making all on his first run of the season and may get his own way up front again here.

16:42 Nine Tales

The promising Marie Antoinette needs to settle better to fulfil her potential but she is already useful and probably poses the main threat to NINE TALES, who shaped really well on his debut in an AW novice and whose trainer knows where he stands with another potential danger in Monhammer. Adabbah is a fascinating newcomer.

17:15 Irv (NAP)

Having run well on their previous starts, Aoife’s Joy and Little Ted are afforded plenty of respect. They are preferred in that order but either will do well to get the better of IRV (nap) on this season’s solid form under his regular jockey Aiden Brookes. Lexington Warfare is the other to consider.
