Ruby Walsh: Dorells Pierji looks our best chance at Listowel

We're gearing up for a big Irish Champions weekend at Leopardstown and the Curragh but there's business to be taken care of first at Listowel on Friday

Listowel Friday 3.45

Maze Runner is working really well – but he always does. He ran twice at Galway and that ran disappointingly at Tramore. He wouldn’t be high on my list of the likely winner of this contest.

Listen Dear got caught for toe at Ballinrobe which is a much sharper track. She steps up to 2m4f here and that will suit her. Alisier D’irlande likes to gallop along and should set a decent pace, It’s a while since we’ve seen Carlingford Lough and he isn’t getting any younger.

Listowel Friday 5.20pm

Dorells Pierji has won his last two races and should give a really good account of himself.

He’s fit and well and ready for action and looks to be our best chance of the day.

Getoutofmeway should handle the ground here and I’d say will be winning races over the winter.

Listowel Friday 5.50pm

Shanakey is a six-year-old mare who is bred to stay, though may appreciate better ground. The bumper horses are in great order at the moment so hopefully she can be competitive.
