Horse Racing: Punter nets £14,836 off Musselburgh Lucky 15 to enter Paddy’s punting hall of fame

Our pal will always have a soft spot for Musselburgh races after Sunday's win.

Another weekend means another lucky punter giving us a spanking and it was no different on Sunday when an English bettor turned a 20p Lucky 15 (£3) into a stunning £14,836 after all four legs of their bet landed.

NEW TO PADDY POWER NEWS?

WELL, HOW DOES £/€20 AFTER SIGNING UP SOUND?

Our winner – who hails from Nottingham – placed their stake on four selections at Musselburgh on Sunday and then sat back and watched as the 4,944/1 drama unfolded.

Here’s how it landed.

Musselburgh-Racecourse-Jumps-course

Our pal was firmly focused on the opening race at Musselburgh, which went off at 13:35. Their first selection was The Player Queen (8/1) and they needed the Rose Dobbin runner to overturn the 2/9 favourite Burn The Evidence, who is trained by Gordon Elliott. The Player Queen held behind the leaders until two fences out when Craig Nichol made his move. It was a smart move as the mare beat Oot Ma Way by a short head.

Attention then turned to Idilico in the 14:45 with the Dianne Sayer runner going off at 28/1. The six-year-old ran brilliantly to beat the 11/8 favourite I’m To Blame by 3 1/4 lengths after making a late move. With two picks up and two to go on the four legs of the bet, our pal was well ahead of the posse with two singles and a double already rolling onto selection number three.

And this is where the dream really starts to take shape as Hold Onto The Line (33/1) gets the job done in the 15:55. The betting outsider took the lead two fences out but was then challenged. Alan Doyle then went again and the gelding travelled strongly for the final furlong.

Three winning picks from four so far and our winning punter’s nerves must have been shot as there were now three singles, three doubles and a treble steamrolling into his fourth and final selection, Neigh Botha in the last race of the day at 17:00.

You can probably guess the rest as the five-year-old stalked the leader until 1f out and stayed well in the final stages to win by 1 1/2 lengths at 15/2. That landed all four legs and 15 bets in the Lucky 15, to see our punter scoop a £14,836 payout from Paddy.

Congratulations and welcome to our Punting Hall Of Fame!
