After the first game it was “we’re going to win the World Cup!” and then after the USA game it was like crashing back down to earth.

They were difficult to break down though if England to win that game I think it might’ve been different.
You have to manage yourself through a tournament. We don’t have to get too carried away with how much of a poor performance it might’ve been,
I could see changes though for the Wales game. Four at the back is good, but I could see Phil Foden coming in. I expected him to be a bigger part of the team. He could possibly come in for Saka, but I don’t think you need to make massive changes because you draw with the USA.

I’ve played with many Welsh players in my career and they love playing England.
Match Odds: England to Win
With England, there’s a lot of pressure in a game like this because they’re expected to win , whereas Wales won’t have as much pressure on them, and that can make them more dangerous. They should be able to enjoy this.
That could make this a tight game, and it might get a bit nervy but England should edge it in the end.
Under 3.5 Goals
I wouldn’t expect it to be a goalfest like the Iran game though.
England should dominate possession and come out on top, I could see it finishing 1-0 or 2-1 as Wales do have some threats and could catch them on the break.
Gareth Bale to Have 2+ Shots on Target
Gareth Bale will still carry a threat for Wales and would love to produce a moment of magic on such a big occasion, so I’d expect him to cause a few problems for Jordan Pickford.
Declan Rice to Commit 2+ Fouls
It’s not every day that England play Wales at a World Cup and this looks like one of those games where things could boil over a touch.
Declan Rice in the heart of England’s midfield will be busy and I could see him having to make a few challenges.
Over 4.5 Corners for England
Set-pieces are important for England and something Gareth Southgate works on with the squad. I can see more corners in this if England press forward.
