We’re through to the semi-final stage of Euro 2020 and there’s just three games left to play in the whole tournament. Cristiano Ronaldo sits atop the goal scoring charts like the perfectly-detailed icing on the cake of a deliciously goal-filled tournament.
Bizarrely, it’s been a European Championships full of own goals. We’ve had a whopping 10 so far – more than the total accrued in all previous Euro tournaments. However, it’s that man Ronaldo who has scored the most at the right end with five.

As it stands, Ronaldo will still pip him to UEFA’s award because the Portuguese has an assist while Schick doesn’t, however, Paddy will settle both as winners in accordance with our Dead Heat rules, so if you’ve backed either you’re due a payout as it stands.
In third place, Karim Benzema’s tournament is done, with France exiting at the hands of Switzerland in the last 16 via a penalty shootout. The returning Real Madrid hitman bagged four and occupies third by virtue of playing fewer minutes than Emil Forsberg of Sweden and Belgium’s Romelu Lukaku. None of that trio can add to their tallies and they’re all off on their summer holidays.
England’s Harry Kane could be a late bolter to catch or pass the top two having nabbed his first of the tournament in the last-16, then his second and third versus Ukraine in the quarter finals. Teammate Raheem Sterling also has three goals already and another pair in either the Emi-final of (deep breath) final would draw either of them level with the frontrunners. The Man City forward scored all of England’s first three goals in the tournament and has a chance to add to that on Wednesday versus Denmark.
Though their striker Kasper Dolberg could have designs on the crown as well having hit three in his last two games, though it’ll take something special to surpass Ronaldo and Schick’s five from here, and we should give a shout out to the other players level with Sterling on three and they are, Poland’s Robert Lewandowski, Xherdan Shaqiri and Haris Seferovic of Switzerland, and The Netherlands’ Gini Wijnaldum – all of whom are now out.
There are several players on two goals, Ciro Immobile, Lorenzo Insigne and Alvaro Morata among them, who are still in the competition, but they’ll need to find their shooting boots fast if they’re to make a late charge.
