Paddy Power ambassador Phil Thompson has given his take on this weekend’s FA Cup action, with a host of headline clashes catching the eye across the fourth round ties.
While Thommo’s former side Liverpool visit Manchester United on Sunday in arguably the headline encounter, the ex-England international has also studied Saturday’s matches and come up with a collection of best bets for punters to consider.

Thommo’s FA Cup Treble – Southampton, Swansea and Man City
I’m trying to give a bit of value with this Treble, but I’m still going with Manchester City – I think they will comfortably beat Cheltenham Town.
I said four or five weeks ago, you cannot count Manchester City out of the Premier League title race because they could win every game between then and the end of the season. That’s just how good they are.
Saturday, 5.30pm: Cheltenham Town v Manchester City
BBC One
City have just beaten Aston Villa 2-0, Crystal Palace 4-0, Brighton 1-0 and they’re getting the clean sheets. John Stones is playing like Franz Beckenbauer and he has formed a partnership with Ruben Dias out of thin air. Aymeric Laporte was a mainstay in that side but now he is going to struggle to get back in.
I have absolutely no doubt that they will play a changed team against Cheltenham, but whatever team they do put out will be enough to win. The pitch may help Cheltenham, but the home side are sitting sixth in League Two and their last two matches have finished 1-1 so you’ve got to fancy City.
Football tips: Ace Aubameyang can help score our 4 Southampton v Arsenal punts
I’m going for Man City to win, and I think they will win to nil regardless of whatever team Pep Guardiola ends up putting out. I think Ferran Torres will bag a few.
I’m also going for Swansea to beat Nottingham Forest. They’re playing ever so well at the moment and look as though they can beat anybody.
Saturday, 3.00pm: Swansea City v Nottingham Forest

And the selection where there is going to be a bit of value for everybody is Southampton to beat Arsenal. Arsenal have been on this good run and will be feeling a bit cocky, but I think they look vulnerable. With Southampton at home, I think they can do it.
