It wouldn’t be a normal week without a punter taking us to the cleaners and that happened again on Tuesday night as one lucky bettor managed to turn a €19.50 acca into a stunning €32,760 after their footie First Goalscorer four-fold landed.
Our winner – who hails from Dublin – fancied a few Premier League stars to net first in Tuesday’s games and the bet came in at huge odds of 1,680/1.
Let’s tell you how it landed.
NEW TO PADDY POWER NEWS?
There were just four Premier League games on Tuesday night, with staggered kick off times, and our punter decided to have a go on every game.
Instead of picking the outcome of the fixtures, he decided to pick four first goalscorers.
Crystal Palace’s Wilfred Zaha, Fulham hitman Alexander Mitrovic, Raheem Sterling of Chelsea and Everton starlet Anthony Gordon made up the big-priced four-fold.
It was Chelsea’s Sterling who got the acca off to a flyer after the England forward netted his third Premier League goal of the season after just 23 minutes of their 2-1 defeat at Southampton.
Leeds v Everton was next in focus for our punter after Gordon put Everton ahead at Elland Road. It took just 17 minutes for the forward, who could be teaming up with Sterling at Chelsea soon, to open the scoring in the 1-1 draw.
Two down, two to go!
Our bettor then had a manic ten minutes from around 8:35pm and there’s no doubt he would have been flicking between Fulham v Brighton and Crystal Palace v Brentford on the tellybox.
The next to deliver was Mitrovic in Fulham’s victory against Brighton. After a dull first half, the Serbian bagged just three minutes into the second half to give him five goals in five Premier League appearances this season.
Finally, all eyes were on Palace’s danger man Zaha – and boy did he deliver!
The winger cut inside in the 59th minute of Palace’s 1-1 draw against Brentford and fired his effort into the top corner past a helpless David Raya.
That meant our lucky punter scooped the €32,760 prize pot. So, all we can do is welcome yet another lucky winner to our Punting Hall Of Fame!
