11am: Cerundolo v Borges – Cerundolo to win
Argentinian Francisco Cerundolo (ATP #19) will face Portuguese Nuno Borges (ATP #69) for the first time in their careers. Cerundolo is rightly the big favourite here given the higher ranking and form heading into Wimbledon.
Cerundolo won 8 of his last 10 matches losing to two high ranked and tough opponents in Rune and Dimitrov. Borges however has lost three in a row and has had a mixed and inconsistent season. Cerundolo will be high in confidence after lifting the title in Eastbourne after beating Tommy Paul in straight sets in the final. Borges shouldn’t cause many issues here so it’s Cerundolo to Win.

3pm: Andreeva v Wang – Andreeva to win
Rising star Mirra Andreeva has been in red hot form since making her professional debut last year and is ranked 102nd due to her lack of experience. However, she has defeated several higher ranked opponents and is playing tennis at a way higher standard than her ranking suggests. At just 16 years of age, she already has six titles to her name.
Mirra does face tough opposition in Xiyu Wang (WTA #65), and the ladies have never faced each other before. Wang hasn’t been in great form herself heading into Wimbledon but did pick up a couple wins on grass before losing in straight sets to Madison Keys (WTA #18). We expect Andreeva to Win and continue her scintillating form and to progress to the next round.
5pm: Mertens v Svitolina – Svitolina to win at least one set
Elise Mertens (#WTA 28) representing Belgium faces old rival Elina Svitolina (#WTA 76) from the Ukraine in a game that has so much promise. The ladies have faced each other 5 times previously with Elina Svitolina coming out 3-2 winner in the head-to-heads. This will be the first time they have faced each other at Wimbledon or on grass.
Svitolina has won 10 of her last 12 games heading into Wimbledon as she continues her recovery and to climb the rankings again, whilst Mertens who is the favourite here and ranked 28th currently, has had a fairly mixed season so far and recently retired against Pliskova. Elina Svitolina, back from giving birth in October, reached the Quarter-Final of the French Open last month, and as a former World Number 3 and Wimbledon Semi-Finalist, we expect Svitolina to win at least one set here, if not to win the match, and progress to the next round.
5pm: Cressy v Djere – Both Players to win a Set
The American and 58th ranked player Maxime Cressy takes on Serbian Laslo Djere who is ranked just two places below in 60th. The men have faced each other twice previously, with either player picking up a 2-1 win, but this will be the first time they have faced each other on grass.
Neither player is heading into Wimbledon in great form here with Cressy losing 12 of his last 13 games, and Djere losing five of his previous seven but facing much tougher opposition. The favourite is Cressy but we expect a close game and, as in their two previous head-to-heads, it’s both players to pick up a set.
