13:50 Sandown – Cannock Park (Racing Post)

This is seriously competitive. At the weights, CANNOCK PARK emerged as the best horse in the race when going down narrowly at Newbury and a suspicion that he’s better than that is backed up by his good run in a Grade 2 the time before. Steel Ally (second choice) has a big effort in him and front-runners have brighter prospects here when the ground isn’t testing. Fiercely Proud, Panjari, Be Aware, Court In The Act, Geezer Rockstar and An Bradan Feasa should all go well, and there are even more with chances.

14:05 Leicester – Magic Memories (The Times)

Al Mubhir (second choice) ought to make a bold bid to defend his crown, but there was a lot to like about the performance of MAGIC MEMORIES in the Spring Mile at Doncaster last month. Look Back Smiling and Thunder Roar were ahead in first and second on that occasion, but Gary Moore’s charge left the impression the outing was needed in fifth and can turn the tables.

14:45 Haydock – Tacarib Bay (The Guardian)

The suggestion is TACARIB BAY, who has a strong record at Haydock and looks favourably treated. Second choice is last year’s runner-up Gweedore, who again has solid claims. Irish raider Earls is in good form judged on his Curragh efforts over a furlong further this term, while Zip also enters the reckoning. Sparks Fly has an impressive record in handicaps but this drop back in distance may not be ideal, while last year’s winner Rainbow Fire doesn’t have his optimum ground on this occasion.

15:12 Leicester – So Smart (Daily Mail)

Buraback and Darlo Pride (preferred in that order) have done very well on the AW in recent months, but this might go to SO SMART who made an encouraging seasonal/stable debut on slow turf three weeks ago and remains attractively weighted on last spring’s form.
