NFL Tips: Ravens take flight v Dolphins in Sunday’s 47/1 Multi-Match Bet Builder

Ben Steele gives us his best bets for a crucial Week 17 early evening slate, including the Ravens' showdown with the Dolphins

Sunday’s 6pm NFL Tips

Miami Dolphins @ Baltimore Ravens

Gus Edwards Anytime Touchdown
Raheem Mostert Anytime Touchdown
Baltimore Ravens -3.5 Points

New England Patriots @ Buffalo Bills

Stefon Diggs Anytime Touchdown

New Orleans Saints @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Mike Evans Anytime Touchdown

Miami Dolphins @ Baltimore Ravens

Raheem Mostert Anytime Touchdown

The Miami Dolphins travel to Baltimore to face the Ravens in a huge game in the AFC playoff picture. A Ravens win would cement top seed for John Harbaugh’s side while a Miami win would see them leapfrog their opponents into top spot going into the final weekend of the regular season. Miami will be looking to rely on the top scoring player in the NFL to keep them in the hunt.

Running back Raheem Mostert has scored 40 touchdowns in his entire career, 21 of them have been this season. Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel is arguably the best offensive play caller in the league and he relies on Mostert most in the red zone. With the Ravens likely focused on keeping MVP candidate Tyreek Hill I would expect McDaniel to his Hill as a decoy on plays that go to Mostert, who is a good bet to pick up his 22nd TD of the season.

Gus Edwards Anytime Touchdown

Miami have Mostert, Baltimore have Gus “The Bus” Edwards. The Ravens have seen multiple running backs pick up serious knee injuries this season but Edwards has been reliable throughout, scoring a career high 12 times and providing excellent support to Lamar Jackson.

Miami’s offensive firepower will worry the Ravens so I’m expecting Sunday’s hosts to try and control time of possession and keep Tua and company off the field. Look for Edwards to add to his total with a short yardage score.

Baltimore Ravens -3.5 Points

Baltimore come into this game off the back of headline grabbing win on Christmas Day against the San Francisco 49ers where their defence effectively removed Niners QB Brock Purdy from the MVP conversation, intercepting him four times on the way to a 33-19 win.

That scoreline marked the seventh time the Ravens have beaten a team with a winning record by 14 points or more this season and a repeat on Sunday will have the home crowd dreaming of a Super Bowl title. Linebackers Patrick Queen and Roquan Smith will need to be at their best to contain Miami’s offence but the Ravens are, arguably, the most complete team in the NFL I’m backing them to cover the 3.5 point spread.

(-3.5)

New England Patriots @ Buffalo Bills

Stefon Diggs Anytime Touchdown

If the Ravens do get that win the Buffalo Bills will be almost as happy as those in Baltimore. The Bills are almost two touchdown favourites to beat the New England Patriots and know that if they can take care of business and the Ravens win their Week 18 matchup against Miami will decide the AFC East champion.

While they may have one eye on the score in Maryland the Bills will look to take care of business early. Stefon Diggs has already scored a touchdown against the Pats this season, in a surprise 29-25 loss, and will be looking for revenge. Josh Allen is having a superb season and his ability to find Diggs at will is a big part of that. Look for Diggs to score as the Bills cruise towards a blockbuster game on the final weekend of the season.

New Orleans Saints @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Mike Evans Anytime Touchdown

Another game with playoff implications, this time in the NFC South where the Tampa Bay Buccaneers know they can end any chance New Orleans have of making the playoffs with a win. Nobody would like to do that more than long time Bucs receiver Mike Evans.

The 10 year veteran has played his whole career in Tampa Bay and is currently on pace to score a career-high in touchdowns. Evans has combined with Baker Mayfield 13 times already this year and only needs one more score to match his 2021 total, with the Saints in real injury trouble I’d expect the Tampa wideout to find the endzone for the fifth time in December.
