Chargers to Win
Under 39.5 Points
Austin Ekeler Anytime Touchdown Scorer
Austin Ekeler Over 31.5 Receiving Yards
Breece Hall Anytime Touchdown Scorer

Week 9 of the NFL schedule concludes with two AFC playoff contenders taking the field in the city that never sleeps in hopes of keeping their respective momentum going. On Monday Night Football, the Los Angeles Chargers travel across the nation to play the New York Jets. In their most recent game, Los Angeles defeated Chicago 30-13 at home on Sunday Night Football last week, covering the spread as a 10-point favourite. The Jets overcame an ugly game to defeat the Giants 13-10 in overtime as the visiting team in their own building. The Chargers have won the last four meetings between these teams. We have a bet builder to set up for Monday’s clash.

Chargers to Win

In terms of strengths and weaknesses, these teams couldn’t be more different from one another. With Ekeler back in the mix, the Chargers have been playing well offensively, but they have struggled defensively. The Jets, have struggled offensively while maintaining a formidable defence that was unmatched a season ago. Despite having won three straight games, New York is still struggling to successfully move the ball.

They were lucky to defeat the Giants the previous week, and they might not have if Tyrod Taylor hadn’t been knocked out of the game. Herbert is far more effective than Tommy DeVito or Taylor who pushed the Jets all the way. It’s a close one, but you have to give the Chargers a tiny advantage here given how poorly the Jets moved the ball last week. To get back to .500 for the season, expect the Chargers to win this one in a close game.

Under 39.5 Points

If you’ve been betting on primetime unders this year, you’ll have been rolling in profit. They’ve been 19-5 this year and this game should follow suit. Both teams’ seasons have seen the under hit a lot more than the over. Los Angeles having not seeing an over since Week 2. Look for that run of unders to extend to six in a primetime road game against one of the league’s best defences.

Austin Ekeler Anytime Touchdown Scorer

To put it simply Ekler is and always has been a TD machine for the Chargers. However he hasn’t scored in his last three. I feel he’s due this week as he will get a lot of the workload against the Jets defence. Ekeler comes off a season where he got in the endzone 18 times so the talent and ability is there. He’s a threat both in the run game and through the air. If the Chargers are in range Ekeler will have the ball in his hands and I’d expect him to score.

Austin Ekeler Over 31.5 Receiving Yards

Austin Ekeler is the main weapon for the Chargers, and he will get lots of use this Monday. I would expect him to get the majority of his use out of the short passing game against this tough Jets defence. He has the potential to break a big one and that would help secure our over.

Breece Hall Anytime Touchdown Scorer

Like Ekler, Hall is the go to man for the Jets. He’s had a stellar season so far coming off his knee injury in his rookie year. In a stumbling offence under Zach Wilson, Hall has been the shining light. Hall accounts for all three of the Jets scores in their recent wins, so if they are to have success they know who to go to.
