Cheltenham tips: Rory Delargy’s 9/2 each-way value pick for the Turners Novices Chase

Rory reckons Ginnys Destiny holds the best value as an each-way pick in the Turners Novices Chase.

In the fourth of this year’s Paddy Power Media’s ‘From The Horse’s Mouth’ podcast Cheltenham Countdown’, host Tom Nugent together with former champion jockey turned tv pundit Ruby Walsh and well-known journalist and broadcaster Rory Delargy, look at the Turners Novices Chase on day three of the 2024 Cheltenham Festival.

      Rory Delargy

He has improved with every start, faster than the handicapper has been putting him up. His jumping is very assured, and he’s thoroughly proven at Cheltenham. He’ll jump fine, and he will be well-positioned.

He is staged on a mark two, so you get the impression that there is something a bit classier than him because he has come up through the handicap ranks, and you might think, “Well, he’s not an absolute superstar’, but you know he is going to go out there and do his job.”

The question is whether the class performers fluff their lines and allow someone to come through and win it. Either way, you have got a horse that is going to give it’s running. He might end up a few pounds shy of the very best. Or, he could do what Stage Star did last year and pop out, make the running, jump ahead of everyone else and hold on at the end.

So, he makes the most appeal to me.
