RORY DELARGY
Gavin Cromwell has Limerick Lace, who is near the top of the betting, but he also has Brides Hill at a bigger price and she won well at Huntingdon on Thursday. She’s got the same rating but her jumping can let her down. She was a short-priced favourite in Perth last season but she just forgot how to jump!
She lost confidence last season but she jumped well in her two wins at Listowel and Fairyhouse this season.
Brides Hill beat Telmesomethinggirl at Thurles last year off a mark of 140 and that puts her closer to Limerick Lace than the prices suggested.
I’m interested to see if Gavin will bring her over as well as Limerick Lace. Brides Hill looks overpriced before the Huntingdon race, but Paddy’s Non Runner Money Back offer has kicked in so so we’ll get refunded if she doesn’t run in the Mares’ Chase.
