16:30 – Bringbackmemories

An open race in which the vote goes to BRINGBACKMEMORIES, who has done well since returning from a break in December and was a strong-finishing third over 1m3f at Southwell last time. Fleur De Mer has form figures of 312133 on AW and she’s feared most on her step up to this trip. Others to consider are Bobby Shaftoe, who completed a C&D double on Saturday, and Spanish Hustle, who didn’t get much luck when a close fourth here last time.

17:00 – Bradman

Several have possibilities but the vote goes to BRADMAN, who has a record of 122423 since cheekpieces have been applied and was only narrowly denied here on his penultimate run. Archie Watson’s handicap newcomer Chiefman is feared most on his return, although Little Rose still has potential for William Haggas and Lunar Rocks also enters the reckoning on her stable debut.

17:30 – Asgards Captain (nap)

Dual Tapeta winner Bearwith ended last season with a 5l win at Beverley and has claims if he can pick up where he left off. Westernesse is still unexposed at this trip and needs watching in the market on his return, while the very lightly raced Soowaih looks interesting upped to 1m2f on his stable debut. However, it is hard to get away from the highly progressive ASGARD’S CAPTAIN (nap), who made it five wins from his last eight starts when forging clear over C&D last time.

18:00 – Lady Dorchester

The market should be highly informative but at this stage the vote goes to LADY DORCHESTER, who looks the part on paper and represents a yard that had an 18% strike-rate with 2yos last year. Kuwaitya, who is a sister to a fairly useful 6f 2yo winner, is feared most ahead of Lucent and Go On Rosie.

18:30 – Saisons D’Or

Pallas Lord has already won four times here this year and is strongly respected off the same mark for his second in a similar race last Monday. Crypto Quest went very close over 6f here last time and looks interesting at this new trip, while Homer Stokes has possibilities on his drop back to 7f. However, the one who appeals most is SAISONS D’OR, who has been knocking on the door over C&D in his last two runs and should make another bold bid.

19:00 – Ratafia

If he can pick up where he left off last year then RATAFIA looks worth keeping on the right side of. He goes well here and may still be capable of finding a bit more. Martin’s Brig is exposed but it’s hard to knock his recent win and he could still have a big say from 2lb higher. Similar comments apply to Spartan Fighter, though it may be a little tougher for him, while last year’s winner Code Purple is on a handy mark and not written off.

19:30 – Birkenhead

Stallone is very likely to have a say but perhaps this will be the day BIRKENHEAD takes advantage of a drop in the weights. He’s been running by no means badly over C&D of late and, as all of his handicap wins have come in aids, the return of headgear after two runs without is a likely plus. Madame Fenella and Beneficiary should be thereabouts as well and a better effort from Sound Of Iona is not ruled out. Tantalus has been off a long time but he showed AW promise over C&D last spring and is better treated now.

20:00 – Eldeyaar

Noble Captain, who has won twice over C&D this year, is respected along with Absolute Dream, who scored at Southwell last time and should get a decent pace to aim at on this drop back in trip. Tapeta specialist Tathmeen has possibilities if this sets up for his closing style, but the vote goes to his stablemate ELDEYAAR, who got back on track with a close call at Southwell last Wednesday and is a big player, if he can repeat that form.

20:30 – Catherine Chroi

This can go to CATHERINE CHROI, who has been resurgent since rejoining Iain Jardine and had plenty in hand when landing a classified event at Southwell last Thursday. Recent C&D runner-up Global Humor is feared most ahead of Mick Appleby’s Awesome Spirit.
