13:35 Charming Star

This can go the way of CHARMING STAR, who ran a big race on his hurdle bow and, with the likelihood he learnt plenty from that, he could be hard to beat in a race that lacks depth. Useful Flat performer Shahbaz, is probably the main danger on debut for Gavin Cromwell.

14:10 Instant Tendance

Gordon Elliott holds the key to this race with Lazy Bones and INSTANT TENDANCE. The former was still involved when coming down here last time, but Instance Tendance is preferred, with her course form from earlier in the season working out nicely. The well-bred Fortuna Favente has been supported in the past, and there’s a suspicion she’s capable of better.

      14:40 Party Playboy

      This looks competitive, with the hat-trick-seeking Aodhan May sure to go well again and the well-treated Upping The Anti showing more last time. However, the well-handicapped PARTY PLAYBOY probably bounced on his second run back from a long absence at Gowran a fortnight ago, and he showed he retained ability on his comeback run in January. Chosen Diamond is another for the shortlist despite a heavy fall when still involved here last time.

      15:15 Kinturk Kalanski (NAP)

      Lough Owel and Special Cadeau are both interesting, stepping up in trip, but they may have their work cut out to get the better of KINTURK KALANISI (nap). Tom Gibney’s six-year-old brings some really smart form to the table, notably his close-up third to Largy Hill on his penultimate outing, and if he finds any further progress, he could be hard to beat.

      15:48 Spillane’s Tower

      The improving SPILLANE’S TOWER can confirm recent Punchestown form with Blood Destiny despite a 3lb pull in the weights for the latter. He was good value for the winning margin, and the drop back in trip shouldn’t inconvenience him. Farmers Lodge is interesting after a smart chase debut at Fairyhouse, but he needs more against these rivals.

          16:23 Ash Tree Meadow

          Journey With Me would be of interest if fully fit, but this is a belated reappearance, and the fitting of a first-time tongue-tie is a little off-putting. ASH TREE MEADOW looks like the solid option. He was unsuited by a drop in trip last week but can bounce back against these rivals in a below-par race for the grade. 

          16:58 Kates Hill

          Competitive despite the small field with KATES HILL shading the vote. She appeared a little unlucky not to make it two wins from her last two chase starts at Punchestown last time, and cheekpieces could help her take another step forward. Jumping Jet is a big player back down in class, and Intersky Sunset may be able to build on her latest chase effort.
