13:45 Fiveafterfour

FIVEAFTERFOUR has shown only modest form over hurdles so far but it’s still relatively early days for this winning pointer. She seemed unsuited by the drop in trip when a distant third at Kelso last month so will benefit from stepping back up in distance here and she is open to improvement heading into handicap company. Joie de Vivre took advantage of a slipping mark at Sedgefield last time and remains well treated on older form so could be the main danger.

14:15 Fia Fuinidh

FIA FUINIDH is still searching for a first win over fences but he has made a promising start to his chasing career and ran well when runner-up over this course and distance last month, looking in control and around two lengths clear on the approach to the last only to be overhauled on the run-in. That form is working out well with the third and fourth both winning next time, and Fia Fuinidh should launch a bold bid from just a 2 lb higher mark. He has had a wind op since last seen.

    14:45 Indian Louis

INDIAN LOUIS failed to make a telling impact over hurdles but the dual winning pointer was impressive over fences at Musselburgh on New Year’s Day, jumping superbly bar one error. He looked a natural on that occasion and should have a good deal more to offer in this sphere. Arctic Row won emphatically over course and distance on his penultimate start and was in the process of running well at Kelso last time until falling at the second-last, so he could be the main threat.

    15:20 President Scottie

PRESIDENT SCOTTIE was flattered by his proximity to the easy winner over this course and distance last month, but it should still be regarded as a promising effort. He appreciated the step up in distance last time, sticking to his task well without ever threatening the winner, and a stronger gallop at the trip could bring about improvement. He gets the vote over Myretown who is also a promising sort and shaped well when runner-up in a two-mile maiden here on debut.

    15:55 Teescomponentstrig

TEESCOMPONENTSTRIG proved he retains all his ability when runner-up at Hexham on his second start following a long absence, and he underlined his well-being when filling the same position at Newcastle last month, sticking to his task well behind a rival who was able to control the race from the front. The winner at Newcastle has scored again since, providing a boost to the form, and Teescomponentstrig ought to give a good account.

        16:30 Post Chaise

POST CHAISE couldn’t capitalise on his lower hurdles mark at Catterick last month, but he shaped as if still in good form in third, travelling as well as any but left behind – by a couple of rivals who have run well since – when the steady tempo quickened. Prior to that Post Chaise had proved better than ever when awarded a handicap chase at Market Rasen and he holds solid claims on that form.

        17:04 Pitwood Road

Point winner PITWOOD ROAD shaped with plenty of promise when runner-up on her bumper debut at Tipperary in May, seeing things out strongly. She was disappointing at Thurles last time but her Tipperary effort sets the standard and, with blinkers applied, she is worth a chance to bounce back.
