Although MOVETHECHAINS has more to do than when never letting his rivals near off a tasty mark over C&D last time out, his striking course record makes him hard to pass over. A few of these have something to prove. But, down the bottom of the weights, Head And Heart (second choice) was an improved performer in cheekpieces at Warwick, and she could have more to give over an extreme trip. Silver In Disguise is also considered, while it wouldn’t be the biggest surprise if Valleres showed his true colours this time.

This is all about MAJOR FORTUNE (nap), who looked to have better to come as a stayer at an ordinary level when winning over slightly further at Hereford, and this looks like a golden opportunity. It’s hard to find a solid alternative, but Barncroft may have turned a corner when runner-up at Uttoxeter in November and has better place claims than most. Well-connected Bampton Star is worth a market check back from wind surgery on his handicap debut.
16:10 Tea And Chats
It’s late in the season for TEA AND CHATS to go over fences, but this low-mileage 7yo is bred for it, and he showed some nice promise over hurdles before struggling in a warm handicap here. Grizzly James is narrowly preferred to Kingofthewest for second preference, though cases can be made for others too.
16:40 Just Over Land
Goguenard should make a bold bid for his hat-trick with Harry Atkins back aboard and taking off a handy 5lb. However, there’s a suspicion that JUST OVER LAND has yet to do himself justice in handicaps, and he’s now had wind surgery.
