13:15 – Destinado

DESTINADO has made a fine start for James Owen, winning three of his four starts for the stable, including at this track a little under a fortnight ago; he did well to strike having had to start his challenge from a long way off the pace and he can collect again while in such rude health. Others to consider are the hat-trick seeking Tortured Soul and Placated.

13:45 – Freetodream

How Impressive has been runner-up on both outings over C&D, including under Oisin Murphy, and is high on the short-list while Rogue Thunder drops in grade and is relatively unexposed so merits respect but perhaps FREETODREAM can build on the promise of his run at Kempton at the end of last year and provide Hollie Doyle with another winner. Freetodream is less exposed on the all-weather than most of these and he is entitled to be sharper with that Kempton effort under his belt.

14:15 – Neptune Legend

There was good market support for NEPTUNE LEGEND in a similar race at Wolverhampton three weeks ago and, although he made little impact, he wasn’t seen to best effect out wide and is worth the chance to atone with Hollie Doyle taking over in the saddle. Stablemate Time Patrol is well worth a second look while Ajrad and Hold The Press finished first and second over course and distance recently and will be on the premises again.

14:45 – Caustic

Lartigue and Eleanor Cross have both shown enough to think that they can win races but there was sufficient promise in CAUSTIC‘s first run on the Flat at Wolverhampton in December to believe that he can take this with normal progression. Caustic was runner-up in two bumpers and he shaped well when third at Wolverhampton, staying on well from an unpromising position after breaking slowly.

15:15 – Shalfa

A change of headgear worked the oracle for SHALFA over course and distance last month and a 3 lb rise in the weights may be insufficient to anchor her with the visor retained. The cards didn’t fall right for Renesmee when hitting the frame at Wolverhampton and she’s preferred to Romilda and Eklil.

15:45 – Berrygate

BERRYGATE posted an improved performance when a fine second at Southwell and is taken to go one better, racing off the same mark. She went like the best horse at the weights at Southwell but had to come from further back than the winner in a race that wasn’t run at a strong tempo, while she also showed her inexperience close home. She may have most to fear from Irrelevant, who wasn’t shown in the best light at Kempton, but Wrestling Revenue, who makes his course debut, and Romanee, a newcomer to handicaps, are also considered.

16:20 – Musical Diva

Course winner Hot Front can challenge for minor honours while Wren Officer is in good form and must go well but preference is for MUSICAL DIVA. The form of her latest win at Southwell has been working out well and she appeared to win with something to spare which offers hope that she can cope with her revised mark.
