      12:40 Leopardstown – Belle The Lioness (Each-Way)

It’s a really tricky contest. Without an each-way price for Risk Belle, I like Belle The Lioness, who was beaten at Tramore on her last start.

13:10 Leopardstown – Grangeclare West (NR)

You have to factor in that going left handed won’t suit Gaelic Warrior. Going up in trip to 2m 5f from 2m means more fences to jump and and travelling slower. There’s every chance he could give away more ground in this race than he would have in the Irish Arkle Chase on Saturday over 2m. Paul Townend will have to slow him down and keep him straight. In the Arkle, it was only a question of keeping him straight as there should be plenty of pace on over that 2m trip. He’ll be a tricky ride.

Fact To File was good when he beat Zanahiyr at Christmas but that was an ordinary contest. Grangeclare West looks over-priced against his two stablemates to me. He represents the value.

        13:40 Leopardstown – Slade Steel

I’m a big fan of Slade Steel. I was really impressed with him at Naas when he beat King Of Kingsfield over 2m 4f but has the pace for this two mile trip.

I’m not saying he’ll win, but Daddy Long Legs is overpriced because of a poor run the last day. He’s a much better horse than his last run. Being back on dry ground will really suit him.

Purely on value, I’m against Ballyburn at odds-on. I’m a massive fan but I wouldn’t read much into him running here over two miles meaning he’s guaranteed to go to the Supreme Novices Hurdle. The only other option was 2m 6f and Willie Mullins was unlikely to go 2m 6f with him as he’s either going to the 2m Supreme Novices’ Hurdle or 2m 5f Baring Bingham Hurdle.

14:10 Leopardstown – Gentleman De Mee (betting without El Fabiolo market)

Dinoblue has to beat El Fabiolo to jump into the Champion Chase picture but I’m not sure she will. You’re looking for a different angle as El Fabiolo is odds-on and probably not a betting proposition for most people.
I won’t be surprised if Gentleman De Mee turns the form with Dinoblue. He ran really well for his first run of the season behind her at Christmas, a drier surface should suit both but he was a good winner of this race last season. With a run under his belt and a quicker surface, I can see Gentleman De Mee being the one that chases home El Fabiolo.

14:45 Leopardstown – State Man/Impaire Et Passe Forecast

Impaire Et Passe needs State Man to underperform and while that can happen on any given day, I’d be surprised given State Man’s consistency. It looks a solid forecast for the stable companions and it’s the way I’d go.

15:20 Leopardstown – James Du Berlais

I fancy James Du Berlais. The drop to the 2m 5f trip will really suit and he gets a 14lb swing with Meetingofthewaters from the Paddy Power Chase at Christmas over 3m. I’ll be with him.

15:50 Leopardstown – One Last Tango

When I saw Mark Walsh going for One Last Tango over Zenta that sent me in his direction. He was an impressive winner here at Christmas when he beat By Your Side, he’s gone up 9lbs for that run, but I still think he’s worth his shot with 10st 12lbs on his back

16:25 Leopardstown – Baby Kate (NR)

The one that interests me is Baby Kate. I thought she really well to beat Jeune Belle at Cheltenham in November. She represents a bit of value. She’s deceptive. She doesn’t catch the pigeons in Closutton, but she’s making a fair fist of catching them on the racecourse.
