13:15 Cheltenham – Aucunrisque

Chris Gordon’s charge was staying on really well at Ascot last time back on a slower surface. This Betfair Hurdle winner has good form from running on soft ground at Kempton last year and I’ll take him at a value price.

13:50 Cheltenham – So Scottish

It’s significant they declared Fakir Doudairies as it will keep the weights down for my selection. Mark Walsh rides So Scottish and he warmed up for this at Gowran recently. He is fairly weighted and even though disappointed at the track last year I can’t help but feel he is still reasonably handicapped. Remember, he gave Boothill a fright at Ascot when that horse was rated 20lbs lower than he is now!

Lots of these are closely matched on previous runs and Fugitif was too keen last time. If he is ridden with more restraint he is the danger.

14:05 Doncaster – Cerendipity

Sue Smith has her team in great form and more to come from Cerndipity judged on Wetherby win.

14:25 Cheltenham – Protektorat

Broadway Boy was a game winner last time and deserves to be fav on that. However, Protektorat was fancied to win a Betfair Chase at Haydock only to disappoint. He jumped very poorly for him and I can’t forget how easily he won a handicap on bad ground when ridden by Bridget Andrews at Aintree. He has that kind of performance in him. If he runs to that level he will win this.

14:40 Doncaster – Glorious Zoff (e/w)

This seems nuts but he will be ridden to come home strong. Gin Coko is the right favourite and is the one you would pick to ride. I feel Glorious Zoff represents really good each way betting in this contest as he is a huge price. He ran a belter at Wincanton last time & drying ground will suit and watch him to be sneaking into it late on.

15:00 Cheltenham – Shanagh Bob

He did nothing out of the ordinary when winning at Plumpton but he was never going better when running through the line. He had to make his own running which didn’t suit and we don’t know how good he is.

It’s hard to get a handle on him and for that reason he has to be in the ‘could be anything’ category.

15:15 Doncaster – Forward Plan

He ran a very good race at Wincanton in a very hot contest. This will be more to his liking.

15:35 Cheltenham – Theatre Glory

Looked in need of her outing when finishing third at Ascot. With that run under her belt gets the nod here.
