When is the Savills Chase 2023? Leopardstown date, start time, runners and betting

A Christmas cracker!

Conflated

The Savills Chase is one of the biggest staying races on either side of the Irish Sea as Cheltenham Gold Cup contenders do battle ahead of the March fiesta.

The Grade 1 contest – run over 3m½f – was won by some of Britain’s best of the 21st century including Best Mate (2003), Denman (2007) and Bobs Worth (2013), but it has been dominated by Irish-trained horses for the last nine years.

Conflated emerged victorious in last year’s renewal before going on to place third in the Cheltenham Gold Cup, but it remains to be seen if he will return to Leopardstown to defend his crown as a long-term switch to the cross country discipline is being considered.

You can run the rule over our Savills Chase odds on the Paddy Power website and Paddy Power app, otherwise all the key details about this year’s renewal can be found below.

Savills Chase 2023 betting

Savills Chase odds are on paddypower.com and prices for the leading contenders can be seen on our snazzy widgets below.

Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Galopin Des Champs is the favourite with Paddy Power for the Savills Chase after Willie Mullins opted to diverge from last season’s programme by taking in the Leopardstown Christmas cracker.

Martin Brassil’s stable star Fastorslow is next in our early betting after beating Galopin Des Champs in last season’s Punchestown Gold Cup and this term’s John Durkan on reappearance.

Gerri Colombe is also prominent in our antepost market as Gordon Elliott considers a path to the Cheltenham Gold Cup for his emerging stable star.

*Odds quoted on the widget are Future Racing / Antepost prices which means that if your selection does not run in the race for whatever reason – you will lose your stake under traditional Antepost rules
