13:15 – Trueshan
A three-time winner of this race, Trueshan looked as if his career was in decline. However trainer Alan King has got him back in tip-top condition for super victories at Doncaster and at Longchamp. He proved last time that hold-up tactics are not a necessity to success. It’s going to be a great battle with him and Kyprios.
13:50 – Kinross
It’s going to be a whole lot softer up the straight course and last year’s winner Kinross looks to give the flying Italian Frankie Dettori another spectacular victory at the top level. He arguably would’ve gone very close over in France last time, but was checked late on and that stopped his momentum. He can make amends now.
14:25 – Jackie Oh
The way Jackie Oh has run in her campaign so far would suggest that the team felt she had quite a bit more natural speed in her and only now are we likely to see her benefit from a step-up in distance to a 1m 4f trip. It could easily bring about some untapped potential and given the way that Aidan O’Brien’s runners continue to improve, she’s likely not reached her ceiling just yet.
15:05 – Nashwa
Nashwa managed to give Paddington 4lbs and a neck beating at York when they were second and third respectively to Mostahdaf in the Juddmonte International. They now meet at level weights over this mile trip and she’s always ran extremely well at the top level, even in defeat. She could have won a couple more races this season with a pinch of luck and looks rock solid in this contest.

15:45 – King of Steel
It could all just click into place on the biggest stage of them all for the Derby runner-up King Of Steel. He has the distance, the track and the ground in his favour he also has that added sprinkling of stardust in the saddle with Frankie Dettori taking the reins. It feels like he has been around forever, but he’s only having his seventh lifetime start and can clearly improve from where he sits in the pecking order at the moment.
16:25 – Lattam (each-way)
Since winning the Irish Lincoln handicap at the start of the season, Lattam has continued to run competitively, gaining another success at Newcastle along the way. He ran a cracker at York last time with the, speed-favouring nature of that track not really suiting him. This test at Ascot is going to be right up his street.
