In the least surprising news of the year, Nicky Henderson has confirmed that Constitution Hill will continue over hurdles.
The prospect of going chasing in a bid to emulate the legendary Dawn Run, who won the 1984 Champion Hurdle and Gold Cup two years later, was floated by connections but concerns over his ability to stay three-and-a-quarter miles has seen that plan shelved.
That means a repeat of last season is on the cards for Constitution Hill, taking in the Fighting Fifth and Christmas Hurdle in December before the Champion Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival and concluding at Aintree or Punchestown.
