13:30 Newmarket – Lady Alara (each-way)

Charlie Hills’ filly LADY ALARA did really well to win again over the mile at Ascot two starts ago and put up an improved display last time again over the mile, suggesting that the step up to 10 furlongs is definitely going to suit.

Admittedly we do have some lightly-raced improvers in the field, but Lady Alara looks a huge price and overlooked in the market as an each-way play.

13:50 Ascot – Zudu Spirit (each-way)

Has some rock solid sprint form over in France against some real tidy types. ZUDU SPIRIT can make a splash on her first try for trainer George Boughey after an ideal break of 62 days. She appears to go well fresh, added to that she’ll race on a sound surface for the first time which can see her improve.

14:05 Newmarket – Drama (each-way)

He was definitely still learning on the job when winning quite comfortably at Windsor and ran far too free in the early stages when he was well beaten last time. I wouldn’t be surprised if they hold onto DRAMA a little more in the early stages. He can get his career back on track in this valuable contest.

14:25 Ascot – Al Aasy

William Haggas’ runner Is slightly better than Group 3 level and can make his class count. AL ASAY travels ominously well into his races and sometimes doesn’t find as much as anticipated at the business end. I expect him to be smuggled up in behind horses for at least three quarters of this contest and produced very late in the day by jockey Jim Crowley.

14:45 Redcar – Dragon Leader

The two-year-old has been a real money spinner for connections winning twice at Salisbury and then bolting up in a big sales race at York. He also ran well at Doncaster under ground conditions that were slightly softer than ideal.

DRAGON LEADER can bag another big pot with a smooth success here.

15:00 Ascot – Jumby (each-way)

The five-year-old has been campaign over slightly further of late but make no mistake, has some rock solid sprint form to his name . The race has an open look to it and JUMBY can take his turn in poking his nose in front.

15:15 Newmarket – Inspiral

INSPIRAL hasn’t done a great deal wrong so far this season and we can forgive her the poor effort at Goodwood as the ground conditions were extremely testing, blunting her natural speed. Back against her own sex, she has found a perfect opportunity to bag another top level contest.

15:35 Ascot – Biggles

BIGGLES bolted up in the Bunbury Cup and hasn’t quite had things his way since then. He ran far too aggressively at this venue early on at the end of July and faded but should get the perfect set up now with some guaranteed front runners ensuring a solid pace to exploit his hold-up tactics.
