13:25 Whistle Stop Tour

Jeepydoff Meel needs to bounce after a disappointing run at Stratford but he sets a fair standard on his best form and is respected on this big drop back in trip. Bumper winner Judicial Review and point winner Hawkseye View both need watching in the market along with Kilta, who looks interesting on his hurdling/stable debut. However, the vote goes to WHISTLE STOP TOUR, who was bought for £115,000 after his Irish point win in March and is out of a half-sister to a useful 2m hurdle winner.

14:00 Theirshegoes

She has fitness to prove after a 143-day absence but THEIRSHEGOES made a promising start to her handicap career in the spring and should have a bigger run in her in the near future. Just Jess, another returning from a layoff, is feared most, ahead of Milajess.

14:35 Monochromix

This looks tricky and the market should be informative. Hajey hit a personal best with his win at Catterick in January and is a big player if he can pick up where he left off. Dare to Shout could resume his progress upped in trip on his first run after wind surgery, while Well Educated and Ashington also have possibilities. However, the vote goes to Lucinda Russell’s unexposed 5yo MONOCHROMIX, who had a close call at Carlisle in his final run last season and is open to more progress on this handicap debut.

15:10 Blended Stealth

The Longest Day has won his last two races and could plausibly have further improvement to come but he has something to prove on slow ground and preference is for BLENDED STEALTH. Lizzie Quinlan’s 6yo didn’t fire at Cartmel last time but he kept on well for third over 2m4f on his stable debut and looks well worth another crack at this sort of trip.

15:45 General Officer (nap)

The one with clear potential to develop into a useful chaser is Irish point winner GENERAL OFFICER (nap), who was deemed worthy of a shot at a Grade 2 novice hurdle on his final start last season and is back in much calmer waters for his first run over regulation fences. Chapel Green is also an interesting candidate for chasing and is second choice, ahead of Fenna’s Loss and Horn Cape.

16:20 Janeslittlevoice

The mare JANESLITTLEVOICE was not winning out of turn when getting off the mark at Newton Abbot recently and she can follow up. Eveque ran well in fourth over C&D in April when last seen and is second choice ahead of Lights Are Green.

16:55 Follow Your Arrow

The return to Hexham is a positive for FOLLOW YOUR ARROW and he is the selection ahead of Return Fire, who had a good first campaign over fences last season. En Meme Temps is 1-1 here and is another who could run well.
